Extreme Gamma after Driver Update

Recommended Posts

Having seen newer drivers, I wanted to get a bit more FPS's for my game (which had no problem to begin with). But after installing the new drivers I booted up my game, and after loading, the main screen was so bright, I couldn't see the island in the background untill the camera was right ontop of it.

The gamma of my game sees to have jumped through the roof.

I went into the settings and turned the gamma down, but it just makes the game look horrible and everything still glows.

I went into my ArmA.cfg and turns HDR to Zero, and saved it, and made it Read-Only, still nothing changed.

I have adjusted my settings left and right, but nothing seems to work.

Remember, yesterday my game was picture perfect, and today, with no setting changes (only driver update) is it gamma maxed.

***I also Rolled back to the drivers from yesterday, it did nothing.

**I also reinstalled, it did nothing.

*I tweaked the graphic settings, in and out of game, it did nothing.

Any suggestions?

Er Graphics card?? Drivers?. Sorry but tough to help without any hardware details. Oh and messing with the HDR in the config wont do anything. A BIS Dev confirmed this in another thread. It will only run at 8(okay it will run at 16 as well it was mentioned but nobody needs it to run even slower..)

I have seen this as well (Opening vid-sequence, flying towards island)

in extreme gamma, but on an NV6800GT and yes,

also after an driver update. I did not roll back though.

Some things to try, before complete deinstallation/reinstallation.

Reset the HDR value to 8

In the yourusername.ArmAProfile file, make sure lines 10 and 11

read:

gamma=1.000000;

brightness=1.000000;

If you have changed(lowered/raised?) this value manually,

sceneComplexity=200000.000000; (differs per PC! )

reset it to its original value.

If you dont know it anymore, just change the line to the

value above;..your PC should handle it.

---

If nothing of the above helps, you (unfortunally) have to

delete(make backups! ) both files; 'arma.cfg' and 'yourusername.ArmAProfile'

to let ArmA restore them upon new startup with the default

values. All your keychanges will be gone!

If this step does not help, you can restore your 2 files.

---

One of the above should fix it;..if not, you may have an

corrupt install..last choice: Reinstall Arma. (With latest driver for your

GFX installed before)

---

ermm;..wait for an future patch (game or specific GFX-driver) smile_o.gif
