Dear, Complainers

It has come to the our attention that you do not like Armed Assault in it's present condition and would like BIS to fix the Net code, 100+ bugs, the CTI map and make the scripts work 100% every time. You are not satisfied with the dedicated server and would like a GUI application that will scan your hard drive, find the game and launch all the settings that you want by reading your mind and also determining what map rotation you want without crashing 100 times an hour.

We recommend that until such time when all the bugs are fixed and the net code is finished; that you try to refrain from using your copy of the Armed Assault game; if you have not done so already. DO NOT join any servers or have any fun with the game, as this may lead to more possible complaints and unhappiness.

I don't think so ... I am sure Placebo and a lot of people are tired of the complaints and chit-chatter about the bugs. Especially the ones that KNOW what the end result is going to be. Complaining just seems to take away from the ArmA GLORY.

I think what people really want is for BIS to officialy say that they ARE going to fix the bugs and issues before the end of the week. lol

Anyways, I am done babbling .. back to play'n!!

If you are the ArmA community then i'll happily delete my install and stop moding.

...But since you obviously don’t represent the majority of the actual community and obviously haven’t understood properly the nature of some of the complaints then I'm sure the majority or the people you call complainers will continue to post.

While Fanbois are amusing, they rarely provide anything useful to the community. If you want to support the community why not join in and provide constructive feedback and information to BIS and the rest of the community you pretend to represent.

However 90% of the 'feedback' is just whining about the same things over and over again. Those few posts that do actually say something usefull are incredibly hard to find because of all the crap everyone posts here.

We have a bug and wish list on the community wiki, that should be sufficient for adressing the bugs, we have done most of that so now its time for serious discussion about the best solution for them, however instead people keep whining about them over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and OVER AGAIN [/dr cox mode] like it ruins the game (which it never does).

Ask the stores that have taken ARMA off their shelves because too many people returned it if the whining is justified.

Besides I see you joined Nov 2006. Look at my join date. I have been here since OFP was released. I am a faithful fan!

Still even though I complain I still have faith in the developers. They eventually got OFP into a very enjoyable state.

ARMA is better than OFP at release... but not good enough considering they had the OFP experience to draw on.

The thing is if everyone on these and other forums didn’t complain and just kept quiet then BIS wouldn’t know how the community feels about their products. Having people just saying "WoW" and "BIS you are gods" maybe good for a good ego stroking. It’s no use to anyone when it comes to improving ArmA, fixing bugs and attracting more customers.

Now I admit a lot of stuff is repeat by lots of users; complaints about the flight models, the missing bits of models or any of the performance related issues. But for every whine, at least there is a reason for it. Blindly ignoring some pretty serious errors and flaws isn’t going to do BIS or us any good.

I imagine that BIS are getting sick to the back teeth at people moaning, but at least people care enough to actually post, rather than just return their copies to retailers and buy BF2142 instead. (Which I know has happened)

Just because you don’t like what people post doesn’t make it wrong and their whining may just help BIS decide on the priorities for the next series of fixes making the game you seem so enamoured with so much better.

Did you even read my post? I never said that all we should do is praise BIS, i said how BIS should be noticed, in a way i expected from a 'grown up' community as OFP/ArmA. But all we do is whine whine whine, which makes it almost impossible for BI (or anyone for that matter), to get a good view of whats wrong with the game.

Hell, it it was up to me every big bug on the BIKI-bug page would have its own tread dedicated to it, with a discussion about the best way to fix it. Instead we make a topic about a bug, and then everyone posts that they dont like and OFP with mods was better blabla, but no real solutions, just whining, which doesnt help anything.

Oh, and people who compare BF2142 and ArmA are quite strange, as both games are completely different and if they like BF then theres a big change that they wouldnt like ArmA anyway, bugs or no bugs.
