MarkSheppard 0 Posted August 12, 2006 Biggest example so far; any of the Combat! packs like CBT_M577 and so on When I load up OFP Resistance, I get a message stating that the addon needs "CBT_MISC" to function; yet the CBT_MISC.pbo file is already in my Res/Addons folder. The same thing also happens with the OWP MI-26 addon, it won't see the OWP_Crew addon.
MarkSheppard 0 Posted August 12, 2006 Wait, I may have seen my problem. I normally load the game using FFUR's woodland '85 mod, and I'm seeing a bunch of files that are also the same, like CBT_MISC; so when OFP comes along and sees the same file in the reguar addon folder and in my FFUR addon folder the game gets into a slapfight and ends up not recognizing it. Sepe 1 Posted August 12, 2006 In my experience, the game just selects the one which is in the modfolder, at least for me.
Messiah 2 Posted August 12, 2006 same here... im pretty sure that if you have the same pbo in a modfolder, that is in the normal res addons folder, then the mod folder is the one loaded... although i could, and have been before, wrong.
llauma 0 Posted August 12, 2006 If there are several versions of the same file the game picks the one in the last mentioned mod folder if you have several enabled (-mod=FDF;FFUR). I guess if you want to use the Resistance version of the file you just do -mod=FDF;FFUR;res. Though I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to play with that combination. sanctuary 19 Posted August 12, 2006 In any case, it is recommended to keep the original Addons\ and res\Addons\ folder clean from any unofficial downloaded addons, and so use mod folders. This way you can track the source of your problems a lot easier when you play with several mod folder activated, and for server that does not use "exotic" addons, you may avoid several other compatiblity problems.
