kubi 0 Posted May 6, 2006 If you go up one level in the directory tree, you can find some docs there. A rough map: ftp://e0srp01u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/version1/Continent_def.gif The coordinates N..E.. can be found by google earth or on other maps. And see this: ftp://e0srp01u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/version1/Documentation/QuickStart.txt "SRTM-3 files contain 1201 lines and 1201 samples. The rows at the north and south ecges as well as the columns at the east and west edges of each cell overlap and are identical to the edge rows and columns in the adjacent cell. SRTM-1 files contain 3601 lines and 3601 samples, with similar overlap." So in each cell there are 1200x1200 new info. This is a 2-byte raw data, and photoshop may convert it to TIF or anything else you want. Just find your place on a map, pick files with the proper coordinates, paste more files if you need, cut etc. IMPORTANT: This is a ragar picture taken by a satellite above the Equator. So the area is not a square, you have to distort it. The only tricky part is with wilbur, because OFP can (and will) put water only in areas with negative height, so you have to lower the land enough. E.g. Duna (Danube) river at our place is on approx 140..100m (not horizontal, ~0.5..1 m/km). Sometimes there are some white dots on the pictures (maybe airplanes), remove them with photoshop. Use smooth in wrptool especially at riversides and seasides. Check http://ofp.hu/~kubi/bubua/ 4x3.png is made of 12 cells, it is approximately the whole Hungary area. Have fun! williec 0 Posted May 15, 2006 after reading the above post I decided to try this out. Usually I never DL any islands unless they are completely custom. Wow, this island is a treat. I did like themaster303 and grabbed a motorcycle and just drove around. Next thing I know it's 3am It just felt "right". Very impressive

dmarkwick 261 Posted August 14, 2006 Hi guys, hope you still check up on this thread My question - will you be releasing this for ArmA? I consider this the best OFP map I have seen, very realistic town layouts, realistic vegetation dispersal, very nice in all areas in fact. The only thing I've seen out of place is the phrase "this area under construction" still pasted here & there on the eastern half of the map. I use this map almost exclusively now, maybe you should consider submitting it to BIS for inclusion? I don't know if they have any policy that accepts 3rd party stuff but I really think this map is a cut above the rest, and it looks like ArmA might be short in the European woodland areas. That's not to disrespect the other maps, it's just praise where praise is due
