DaSquade 0 Posted April 5, 2006 Hi, I run into a little problem while making some custom muzzle flashes. As you can see, my problem is the alpha contour problem that sticks out against the behind laying face(s). I am aware of the 'move to top' and 'move to next alpha layer' option...but even by trying to move the one above the other i still keep having some faces sticking above the others no mather what 'layer' movement i try. I use the 'standard' cross (mirrored) face layout to make the muzzle, like all muzzles has been made in the past for riffles/pistols. I was wondering if anybody had an idea how to fix this problem. Kind regards. DS

DaSquade 0 Posted April 6, 2006 Hm, the 'No alpha filtering' indeed does the job. BUT i used to use Texview for that kind of paa textures because i seam to have problems making to correct settings for my alpha. Problem i have with PaaTool is that (FOR ME) it doesn't calculates the black-white boarders (transition). No mather what i set it on, it always displays my texture with a 100% (visible-non visible boarder), instead of fading my texture out to transparant. My alpha map: PaaTool1.1 converted texture: settings used are: DXT1 5:5:5:1 (no alpha filtering)-->sharp boarder problem. -->face vs face boarder problem.
