National Squad Tournment

Even Ladies and Gentlemen

I wish to start a squad tournament which is based on Nationality and proving who is the best of the best in the OFP world.

The squads would represent one nation and would consist of 5-10 players. A squad can be organized any way the leader deems fit, now for countries that have multiple clans a handful of comprise can happen

A: The clans pool together 10 players and start training as a group

B: The clans have a Minnie tournament and who ever wins represents there nation.

C: If none of this options seem to solve the fighting a exemption will be made, but with a handicap (Fielding of less players in a squad)

Now after the team has been picked each nation/squad has a weapon restriction in place so for example we have Russia is weapons would be:

Rifle: AK-74

Grenadier: AK-74/GP-25

Light Support Weapon: RPK-74

Support Weapon: PKM/PK

AT: RPG-7m

Another example could be Germany with:

Rifle: G-36

Grenadier: G-36/GL

Light Support Weapon: MG-36

Support Weapon: MG-3

AT: Panzer Faust

Now this are only examples and a nation might want to use another rifle so for example the Russian squad wishes to use a AN-94 instead of a AK-74 that is a lot as long as there a addons which can represent the weapon and it is balanced and tested.

NO SIGHT MODIFICATIONS ARE A LOT, no ACOG, COBRA, etc

(With exception of weapons like the G-36 which have it “in-buildâ€)

Also no sniper rifles (for now)

So after a Squad has selected its members and its weapon of choice all they have to do is simply post in this thread and wait to be accepted.

Groups:

Just like Soccer squads/nations will be grouped into 3-4 groups (depending on interest)

So for example u have group A which consist of:

Group A

Czech Republic

Greece

Finland

Russia

These groups will be randomly selected and then put in alphabetic order (English) .

The Battles will go from for example

Czech Republic verse Greece

Finland verse Russia

Greece verse Russia

Finland verse Czech Republic

Scoring:

A win awards the squad 2 points.

A draw awards the squad 1 point

A loss awards the squad 0 points.

Battles

The battles will be fought on three simple gaming styles

- Team deathmatch

- Capture the Point

- Capture the Flag

These games will be restricted to a certain area of a BIS map and will be played until a set score has been reached.

After the games have been played the best 2 will be selected to play in the quarter finals and so on, incase of draws for example

Czech Republic 2

Greece 4

Finland 0

Russia 2

Then a knock out game will be played between Czech Republic and Russia which will be a Deathmatch with no respawns.

So there is my idea and I hope people get interested into this, currently I have no server which can host this tournament so if anyone is willing to help please PM me.

Also last note, this is with Addons when u put your squad/nations registration form in just put in at the bottom your addon list so for example I will do Australia

One problem you will have will be lag when a certain country is halfway across the world. Say England and Australia have to play a match im guessing the lag as well as the time zones will be a bit of a problem. Good luck tho with the tourney as i remember TCZ world games. Really great fun

it would have to be orginized, i belive there is no room for such a tournament. 3 World cups have been played, 2 in TNT and 1 with OFPL, all went so-so. Its hard for teams to get active players. Theres a big chance there will be 40 names on the list and then only 5 show up

We did a CTI world cup called "the CTI" but after 3/4 weeks of playing some countries dropped, and the tourney stopped.

I think its hard to hold the teams tied to the tournament.
