theinfamous69 0 Posted February 16, 2006 Hey Guys Sup, I Play For UKIF (www.infantry.org.uk) Great Clan I Know   Anyway During Recent Games I Have Been Getting High Pings That Reach Upto 2000+ ! Anyway I'm Aware That Spyware, Ad-Aware, Virus Ect Can Cause This. So I Did The Usual Scan's With Mcafee, Ad-Aware, Spybot 1.3 Ect And They Came Up With Nothing. So I Wondered Whats The Problem? Then Another Member Of My Clan Also Had The Same Problem, His Game Would Start Then About 20 Minutes Into A Good Co-op Game His Ping Would Just Rise & Rise To Excess Of 3000+ However It Only Seems To Lag As If The Ping Would Be Say 1000+ Which Is Odd. It ALso Goes Back To Normal After A While, And Then Back Up Again! Also I Have Recently Discovered That Me And My Friend Have AOL (Shite I Know) But I Think AOL May Have Some Inbuilt Spyware Of It's Own Or Something Crap Like That. It is not likely, but it could "mistake" your OFP communication for a P2P communication and then, depending on the settings, it is processing it with a low or minimal priority? Are you sure there wasn't any changes concerning your machine configuration (SW or HW) ? What about other games, or communication apps.? What about TeamSpeak? Does it feature higher pings or higher packet loss than before? What about your network drivers? nothing changed there? neither their settings? I Do Have A Mcafee Firewall But I Thought That Would Rather Stop All Connections Entirely Rather Than Have Me Ping Going Up And Down All The Time. There Are No Change's To Me Hardware Config, Dunno What I Would Be Doing Changing Parts Of Me PC lol. Not Sure What You Mean By Teamspeak Packet's But It's Been Running Fine Ever Since. It Has'nt Done It In A While Actually, Got This Hardcore Spyware Hunting Program That Found 2 Spyware In The Registry (Not Even Ad-Aware, Mcafee, Spybot 1.4 Could Find It! 456820 0 Posted February 26, 2006 well try with all other programs closed i get high pings in coops when i have MSN mesenger running aswell as other programs are there any programs which are running in the background? try closing all programs first then play it might help?
