GAanimal 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Hi guys. I´m new here and I have a question: I want to make some sound-files for my missions. What kind of headsets or micropfhones do you use?
mrn 0 Posted February 10, 2006 Quote[/b] ]I´m new here Personally when it comes to sound files I beg/borrow/steal as much as possible. Credit should be always given where it's due. I've never recorded any voice files myself, I have no intention of being an actor! I would imagine most people would use a bog-standard PC swan-neck type or monitor microphone. A couple of links that may come in handy: http://www.goldwave.com/ or http://www.mp3-converter.com/cool_edit_2000.htm try and find an older copy if you can I find it much easier. OFP uses OGG files so you may need a converter: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ It's a shame OFPEC is down at the moment because there are some great tutorials there on how to deal with sound in OFP. Also there is a recruitment board to ask other people to record sound for you. If in doubt, rip apart someone else's mission to see how they did it and give credit in your mission or readme. It's worth having a look through this thread: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=26723
thobson 38 Posted February 10, 2006 I use a combined head set and microphone from Game. Â Cost about Å30. Â That is the one with the larger ear pieces. Â I later spent 4 x that much on a Sennheiser combo but was very dissapointed with the sound from the mike. Indeed it is a shame ofpec is down. In the meantime you might also want to look at: http://andrew.nf/OFP/Sounds/index.htm
macguba 0 Posted February 10, 2006 I use the crappy free mic that came with my comp about six years ago, with a hanky as a windshield. It meets the required standard, but only just. In other words pretty much anything will do. Big tip is to speak loudly and get high volume sound files: OFP has a knack of killing the volume.
