Placebo 31 Posted January 23, 2006 You've patched to 1.96? How are you selecting the servers to play on, through the ingame browser or via a 3rd part app such as All Seeing Eye? Before it crashes is the play normal, ie you can move around and see your opponents/comrades moving around?
RossC0 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Hi, Yeah all patched to 1.96. I've only used the ingame multiplayer game finder so far.. In game its fine - looks normal (as to single player) and the sound is fine. Theres no warning just suddenly get a blue screen (either blank or with white corrupted text ?( not sure what it is)). I was driving a tank yesterday, with someone else as a the gunner and wallop - blue screened after 5 mins or so just getting near the battle zone! I did manage to play a infantry only game no problems - but I want to be in a big tank battle! Any help gratefully recieved!
Heatseeker 0 Posted January 23, 2006 More detailed specs such has sound[!] and HW driver versions might help, its odd if it only happens in MP though .
RossC0 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Not sure about the sound hardware (SiS I think) - but no sound problems (which seem common). As for the drivers I have the latest ATI drivers.. Anything else? - I was getting a memory error when I had my settings up to max - but that was fixed by lowering them.. I've read about v-sync problems - where and how do I turn that off? Heatseeker 0 Posted January 23, 2006 No clue really, does it generate a flashpoint.RPT file in your main flashpoint folder? Most crashes with flashpoint seem usually graphics card/driver related, in wich case the -nomap parameter or an older (or unoficial) driver version might fix. If its a MP related crash it might be router/firewall related, try turning off your firewal while gaming if you havent already. You can disable Vsync in your graphics driver control panel but if the game works in SP this shouldnt be the cause. Dont think i can be of much help here, sry . RossC0 0 Posted January 26, 2006 OK Long reply warning. I removed my ATI drivers and reinstalled - no luck. So I scrapped windows and did a full reinstall and got the latest ATI and sound drivers. I'm still having problems with multiplayer - my sounds did corrupt on one occasion - so it might be that. Any ideas - what to do now???
Placebo 31 Posted January 27, 2006 I removed your Flashpoint.rpt & DXDIAG report, please don't post them in threads, the information they contain is generally useless, it's best to post your system specs manually. Your sound card drivers show they're from 2003, are you sure they're the latest? What model is the soundcard? Did you get the drivers from the Cmedia website? Try lowering hardware acceleration on your sound card, also try diasbling EAX. Are you using -nomap?
RossC0 0 Posted January 27, 2006 Cool - will give that a go
RossC0 0 Posted January 27, 2006 Unfortunately, they are the latest drivers.... Now got the problem that the game is totally unstable and I cant even play single player... after all that Best wait for Arma to come out!
Placebo 31 Posted January 30, 2006 Knocking down the hardware accleration completely and disabling hardware sound and eax still leaves it unstable? If that's so then it probably indicates the problem is elswhere.
