Last mission after you capture the general

Recommended Posts

After you take out the second scud and capture the general, there is a mission where you are supposed to meet up with your old buddies on Everon and go to a bar. Does anything happen here? Just wondering if it is worth playing.

There isn't much to do but there aren't any restrictions on it either, so you can do whatever you want in this mission. Do you want to pick everyone up in smart sports cars? or perhaps get them all into the Mi17 and paradrop them into the pub? Or what about getting the T55 and going on rampage?

That sums it up, you have NOT completed Operation Flashpoint before you have tried this mission.

Pickup some hand grenades from the refueling truck, and try and kill the driver of a west truck that travels to the army base just South of the Airport, he's got a M16 biggrin.gif, you should be able to rearm at the refueling truck. But thats about it smile.gif

After finishing the campaign , i found myself going , hey look thats where we drove the resistance in that truck , thats where we did Killdozer etc , if you do it in the MI17 its just like a sightseeing tour , revisiting all your old battlegrounds , ahh the nostalgia , just had time for a bit of R&R then back into action with Red Hammer

Great Stuff

After you've collected your 3 buddies you can fly down to the old castle ruins on the south coast.  If you climb to the top of the castle you'll meet up with the resistance leader.  He'll join your group and you can fly him to the pub as well.

Are there any other war veterans hiding around the countryside?

I tried it once and couldn't find the first guy after I went to the village. I just wondered if it was worth the trouble of replaying it. Thanks for the replies.

In a word."no"

You would be better off using the mission editor to give yourself a free helicopter ride in a machine of your choice over the island of your choice. Or a sports car for that matter but the helicopters more fun.

Are you sure that you was in the right position? If anything else fails just drive a fueltruck up to it.

When i did this mission the first time, i found a tank (i think it was the t-80 or perhaps t-55) and i refueled it. I was looking for Lt. Hammer in the vilage where he was supposed to be, but i didn't find him. I chose "turn out" to get a better view, and suddenly a black dude appears in front of my tank. That was the end of Lt. Hammer, as he now was nothing more than a road-kill. sad.gif . Later (2nd time i ditched the tank)i found a chopper and could finish the mission. I could exactly see where i drove, as there were body's and carwrecks all over the island biggrin.gif

Played it one hour ago and this is what happened:

In this "mission" the time is years later and you are returing to Everon by plane to meet with your old buddies Robert, Sam and David to have a drink at a pub in Saint Pierre. The reunion became a big disaster. One buddy killed, myself badly injured. This is what happened: I flew to the airport, missed the landing strip by a mile and had a bad landing near the sea. I ejected from the plane while it was still rolling. This gave me a minor injury, but I was still able to walk. My plane disappeared into the water. I walked towards the airport and took the Russian chopper. This went pretty okay and I was able to fly all the way to the village where Robert was at. Again a not so good landing, but hey, I could still walk. I met with Robert and I decided to carjack a white sportscar (bad choice). (I had tried to board the chopper again but it said it was out of fuel) We drove all the way to the east to meet up with Sam. Talked to some soldiers who said Sam was fishing. Moments later Sam arrived by boat and we finally met. I told Sam to board the sportscar and so he did. But then I discovered there was only room for TWO. So I took his place, as the driver, and told Sam to sit down onto the ground. I figured I would head to David, drop Robert there, drive back to Sam and pick him up again. And so I did. David was at an army base where a truck was at. So I told David to get into the sportscar (next to Robert). I got in the truck as a driver and drove back to the town where Sam was supposed to be at. Over the radio (do we carry radio's in peacetime ?? lol) I heard Sam yell where I was at. Then a report came in that he was ... DOWN !! (argh) .. I drove further .. and then .. in the middle of the road .. my good ole buddy Sam was lying DEAD !!! Presumably driven over by a civilian car !!! Apparantly he had been following me. When I got off the truck I somehow got injured further and then I could only crawl. So I crawled to Sam's body (felt quite upset) and waited! until David and Robert arrived with the sportscar (they followed me). I told David to get out and I crawled into the sportscar as the driver. I then drove with Robert to the pub in Saint Pierre and got out. I crawled out, I told Robert also to get out. To my suprise he also started crawling, lol he wasn't injured though, and so we crawled into the bar. Inside the bar nothing happened and I figured the mission would not end without Sam and David being present there so I quited ....

Have to play it again from scratch, /me figures LOL
