Heatseeker 0 Posted January 21, 2006 Well, my card (6600GT) locks up when it hit's 102c. It idles at 67c, or if I pull the casw cover 57c. IIRC AMD says not to run a CPU above that, and I've got a GPU that can be used to safely cook any meat?! I've got 2 90cm fans on top of the video card blowing out when the case is closed, but that's obviously not helping. Way too high, something is wrong there, mine iddles at 47C and i dont even care how high it gets under full load. If you feel confortable with replacing the cooling or reseating it plus thermal paste do it, if you dont want to void warranty or cant be bothered ask for a replacement or something because that temperature might be dangerously high if acurate imho. And if you run it with an open case (i do) see if the cooling is dust free has it should .
