What I want in next patch!

Recommended Posts

New to this forum so I hope this hasn't been posted a thousand times.

I am a big fan of the satchel charge, but I think it could be improved.

I'd like to have the ability to attach the charge to the side of cars, tanks, choppers ect.

It would be nice to sneak up to a UAZ wack a sachel charge on the side, let the enemy drive it into their base and...BBOOOMM biggrin.gif

I think you could have a lot of fun in MP games with this idea(go the suicide bomber in a UAZ)

What do you guys think?

Never thought of it like that before! Good idea.

If you think about it, it is done in real life, so it should possible in OFP.

SCRIPT WRITERS!!!

You could do this using scripts.

You have a script that  makes the satchel charge stay with the vehicle.

Then you addAction to the player so when you're close enough to a vehicle you get the option to place charge on the vehicle. I'm not sure if you could make the addaction apply to any vehicle you come across though, maybe any object.

I'm not a scripting pro, but ask in the mission editing section and you'll probably get the answers you want.

Or if you're lucky, maybe this thread will get moved there now.

INCREDIBLE IDEA VERY IMPRESSIVE...

there will be problems with that new feature....

the new bombs simply goes against the whole meaning of having tanks.

tanks are maded to protect the soldiers from soldier assaults.

If they added this feature...then I predict all most all the players in multiplayer will use them and blow up tanks.

in other words this new feature will be overused and makes the game unfun in multiplayer.

I'm sure you guys will be mad after they added it and when you play on sevrers all the soldiers use them which makes the tanks useless, the amour on them is useless...

I highly disagree. The satchels are to be honest almost completely useless right now. Unless you are taking out some non-moving targets (no one in them). If you could make one stick then there is half a chance for it to do some damage. Also they could make it so it takes a little bit to get thing to stick on it. I like the idea a lot.

BTW: The tank shouldn't let infantry get that close anyway.

I don't know whether this improvement would nullify tanks  confused.gif  I think that you would have to be one VERY LUCKY grunt to get close enough to a manned tank to pin it on, also the tank would need to stop....so don't stop and you won't get one pinned on you.

If they made this improvement as a seperate item and call it somthing like "sticky satchel:)" mission writers could just leave it out of there mission if they feel that it could "unbalance" the mission.

Also, if you try imagine using this in single player game the chances you would get to use it would be rare (more of a weapon of opertunity wink.gif )

and back to the subject.

i would like to c some AI changes:

-in the current version ai can run up hills in any angle while us players can only walk when we arrive to great angles.

- AI kneeling for shooting guns and not only for personal missiles.

-the ability to configure the distanceview within game manues for yourself. right now u can only edit the init field with your prefered distanceview.

-small changes to the 1985.pbo which adds the new guns and vehicls (new guns more important), so at least u can choose to use them in the commanding missions.

I don´t see a disadvantage with attachable charges neither, as it could be only placed on a vehicle while it´s stopped.

If an enemy soldier manages to get this close to your tank in MP, you made something wrong anyway...and why shouldn´t the opponent have the possibility to destroy your vehicle if he showed some skill by sneaking up undetected to the tank to place a charge? This would work very good in urban areas or woods, places every tank crew fears.

Does all AT weapons also go against the whole meaning of having tanks........ well that´s the idea behind them, hahahaa wink.gif
