blackster 0 Posted October 27, 2005 Hi Everyone, Just installed Operation Flashpoint GOTY Edition onto my newly built pc. Spec is AMD 4400+ 2 x BFG 7800 GTX SLI 2 gig ram Audigy 2 ZS Dell 2001FP (1600 x 1200) The nvidia drivers are (78.01), the latest ones run the game but theres draw distance problems, all other drivers are upto date., I've also upgraded the flashpoint version to 1.96 In the settings, it gives me graphics options, Glide, Direct 3D and direct 3D HW T&L, and I choose 1600 x 1200 x 32 res setting Although everytime I load the game up, it gets past all the menu stages then freezes when loaded the actual game, then the pc wont let me do anything, I have to do a cold boot. I'd love to play this again so can anyone help me. Thanks Pete
tug2000 0 Posted October 27, 2005 Tried just letting the flashpoint configurator determine the correct resolution etc?
blackster 0 Posted October 27, 2005 Just tried that, it defaulted to 1024 x 768 x 32 (even tho I have a quick pc) It's also freezing on the menu bit now, where you can select single mission/multiplayer and options etc. I've tried playing about with the nvidia settings but it's still doing it, everytime I have to reboot. btw I'm running a 600 w enermax psu so it's nothing to do with anything power issue wise just in case, also I can run games such as half life 2, silent hunter 3 and doom 3 and all them run perfect. Heatseeker 0 Posted October 30, 2005 Have you tried the FW 81:87 beta drivers? They fixed the draw distance problem introduced with 81:85 WHQL<< ones. Dont hold your breath though, OPFR never liked the transition to DX9 cards and latest recent drivers are a nightmare . edit: Placebo meant -nomap, -nosplash just disables the inicial screen logos AFAIK, make it like this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nomap, just leave a space, put -nomap and apply the change, doubt it makes much diference but... The nvidia drivers are (78.01), the latest ones run the game but theres draw distance problems, all other drivers are upto date., I've also upgraded the flashpoint version to 1.96 If your only problem running the game with 81:85 was the fog issue 81:87b should work properly .
