llauma 0 Posted October 29, 2005 IMHO the Llauma "replacement head" is not especially good. That default face that is distributed with it is especially awful - he looks like a shop-dummy, I always cringe whenever I see yet another screenshot of that bland, plastic-looking, "boogly" eyed countenance. Of the head models I have seen, I am much more impressed by the heads on the Red Hammer Studios Russian Federation troops. These are very skilfully "sculpted" and use less polys than the Llauma head does. You are right about certain things. The head model isn't that good. After all it was released for people so they could maybe base their own head model on it. It's easier to modify my head to your own looks than it is to modify the original head. The mapping isn't very good either. The textures can also be done much better. The heads RHS uses have better proportions than my beta head, but calling them skillfully sculpted means than the sculpting skills of this community aren't very good. The heads are just okay in my oppinion. But I'm glad that someone sees the weakness of my beta heads. That means that I'm not alone. It's not that they arent without flaws, they were just new and it's nice to try out new heads. I know I didnt want to complain about them. However yes they arent perfect but better than the normal heads for sure However the Llauma head also doesnt furfill my needs so far, it may be this one like Jimpy called it "dummy like" face seen in several variations over and over. If you want units with just the Llauma heads i suggest someone sits down and makes a decent facepack for them all individula ones not all based on the texture that comes with the head. So far i find our current heads better for our units but thats simpy cause it fits the way our units are made pretty well... maybe cause its a pretty russian shaped head... hehe Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

A note to mission makers, if there is an addon listed in the requiredAddons in the CfgPatches in the config cpp of an addon, this addon must be specified in the mission.sqm under both the headings addOns and addOnsAuto. Otherwise a Cannot load, missing addons <insert name of addon here> error message is produced on start of the mission. Such an entry is not automatically produced when saving the mission in the mission editor, but must be manually added in the mission.sqm file using a text editing program. A bug report for an addon released last year helped me track down this undocumented feature. offtime 0 Posted November 7, 2005 *Big Thanks for Goose for translating text from PL to EN (My English is weak ) dont you dare to ask him to do that again, ever ! your whole post looks like copied from one of those freeware online translators its hard to understand it. on topic as far as i understand your post there is a problemn when unit is spawned inside the car soldier has bis face and it looks like horror character its coused by the fact that proper face is set by unit init eventhandler and to make it works, unit must dissembark vehicle, then game engine runs init eventhandler and sets proper face to avoid that in WP Soldiers mini mod all vehicles have attatched script in init line wich when game starts is kicking all soldiers out of vehicles and then is puting them back on theyr places player is unable to see this operation becouse it happends very fast, and only when game starts. and thanks to that soldiers init eventhandler is working just the way it should. BRDM will come as an open source addon and we will provide layered .psd files for interested addon makers, so that you can make your paint schemes (the one presented on the pic there is Polish). I can't stand addons without shadows! Loving the new heads, too. Kudos, comrade. Oh, and don't forget to add LSR's seals to requiredaddons in your configs.
