Addons do not show in editor.

Ok i just reinstalled OFP after a while and i saw some addons id like the put in.

I download these addons and put them into the addon folder.

nothing.

Now, heres the wierd thing, i have JAM and HYK's generic US Soldier in the editor, but all the other addons i put into the folder wont show up in the editor list.

Well if your playing CWC (Cold war Crisis), you put your addons that are compatable with it in your Addons folder in your Operation Flashpoint directory. If your playing Resistance, put your addons in the RES addon folder. If you put Resistance addons in the CWC addons folder they will not work.

Make sure they're not contained in a rar or zip archive, not uncommon for people to make such a mistake

yes, they were in RAR format and werent in any other folders when placed into the addon folder

P.S. This didnt matter wich addon folder i placed it in before, if it was resistance i could put in the original addon folder anyway. Ill try it though.

Well it's certainly not unheard of for someone to have missed that step, not everyone has passed the level of understanding what a compressed archive is. Chipper was trying to help

It may be worth you mentioning what addons don't show up for you along with a download link

Just to clarify directly onto this advice because this could

mislead others to new theries like already seen before in

mission editing etc.

this is not true

Addons can be inside a mod-folder

or inside RES/Addons

or inside the ordinary Addons folder.

Some stuff like e.g: island's intro anims (the cutscene you

see after playing on an island and going back to main menu)

even need especially to be in RES/Addons and some in Addons - and will not work if in the wrong one of them.

The only thing you said what was true is:

This is because in CWC no mod folders were supported and

RES/Addons is a mod-folder too without that most ppl are

aware about it, because it's included without any user action
