User definable locations (xyz arrays) in models

Recommended Posts

Would it be possible (probable) to allow for user labeled reference planes, or xyz locations and vectors in a model?

Like, a model of an M4 is made (I know the 2 millionth one), the creator could, with this idea, place mounting locations and vectors for underslung weapons (berlinetti, m203), a scope, a scope shroud or cap, camoflage net positions, spotter light.. etc.

The maker would call-out the location labels in the Readme

Someone who played the model, but who thought it was missing something, or wanted a different version of the add-on, could make one themselves, and use the object's name, and the location label in the model to declare the mate.

I believe it was stated somewhere that they are doing something similar, unfortunatly I can't provide a source off the top of my head.

But the idea was that rather than having a billion and one weapon configurations selectable on a per-gun basis, you'd have 1 gun with a billion and one different configurations, if you get my point...

DOH!  Thread by HOBOMAN... It has been locked.

If I had read only one more page I would have seen it.  Sorry mods, didn't find a match for this (Didn't really know what to search for either).
