Me in need of some one to write configs

i cant writ configs or edit configs so i need help with it

iam making new resistance fighters to replace the old ones in the Game

this is how iam thinking the normal soldier will look like

then ther will be officer MG and Sniper to

Wow, looks great. I think you should ask the EDF guys if they need any help with their soldiers. And I guess they could help you out in return. Your models would look really neat as the EDF special forces smile_o.gif

this is basicly not my soldiers i just use parts from addon makers that do gr8 stuf (only make the things is cant use)

and i cant texture at all only aply them in O2 but not make them sad_o.gif

and sorry but what is EDF?

Still looks great though, just aslong as credit is given where credit is due it's just a good thing to use existing models/textures IMO smile_o.gif

And EDF is the Everon Defence Forces, which I beleive Ironsight and Offtime are working on smile_o.gif Can't find their thread anymore though sad_o.gif

Very nice! Ive been looking for a good replacement for the Resistance that have that guerilla/blackop kind of feel to them, like the ones in VBS1, but sadly thats to much money  sad_o.gif

EDIT: It looks like the pants are pulled up alittle to high

I dont think the resistance soldiers should have helmets,  since they are supposedly civilians who take up arms.  Regular civilians wouldnt beable to head down to their local department store and pickup a brand new, nice looking military helmet.  I think it would beter suit their look if you had them wearning boonie hats and camoflagued caps, etc.  The resistance with helmets makes them look like they belong to a country's military which doesnt appeal to me.

I would like a more unorganized look to the resistance fighters with more russian looking equiptment.  Since russian gear is more common in eastern countries, which OFP resistance were ment to be eastern european who rebel against the soviets.

from the screenshot you have up there, it looks like the everon defense forces soldier addon but with diff textures.  Please change the helmet atleast!

edit: perhaps a cap like this for the regular soldiers:

VBS has 1 res unit.

You arent missing much.

OFP gets WAY more variety with addons like this one here. thumbs-up.gif

Have several versions which will give an option to each user. I wouldn't mind seeing a few with some sort of caps/hats made. If it is a well organized resistance/militia you never know, they could always afford to purchase good equipment. So far it does look pretty good, hope you do find someone to help you out.

If you want to learn configs, a good idea would be to just take an older one (simpler) and use it as a template.

I must agree to Canadian Terror, tho on a first look config

editing seems impossible for a newbie, but it's really one of

the things for ofp, where you learn by doing and playing around with it.

Once you start reading an existing (maybe not too big) config

file and go into it's detail - the lines with text in there biggrin_o.gif

you'll start understanding it. Also comparing it with another

config from a similar addon (e.g: troops vs troops) will open

up new views in reading the config.

I'm afraid that there's not so many ppl out there who could

really teach somebody config scripting - it's just hints and

advice, but noone is a prof' (ok - maybe the one or other).

Config is just self-explaining and basically it's just define stuff.

to make working propertly wounds you will need some scripting

this texture layout isnt realy ofp frienly

thats why i abandomed this project some time ago

now im working on something similar to that

my pilots have identical tex layout, maiking lods and working wounds is realy time consuming.

o the body textures are yours?

(sorry dident know that just found them on my hdd credits will be given)

i cant script i have tryed edit a done config with out any luck  confused_o.gif

all i can do is basicly model and aply textures   sad_o.gif

And yes iam working on difrent ersions with Hats and caps and other gear

(i wher thinking abut making versions with a bit US gear and civilian and versions with USSR gear and civilian)

Hornet!  Those soldiers look must better after you changed the hats.  Thanks for using my suggestions.

mabey should you make the res soldiers to have camflague shirt, colored like the pants, instead of the green lined sweated you have. I think it would look better.  Could you post what that would look like?

edit: here is a few good camo patters that would look nice on their shirts. (It adds a nice touch to the resistance to have diff camoed shirt and pants)

ye i will try to fix that 1 problem is that this is civilians normaly and probebly will not use a ful uniform (but il try it)

dont know abut that the Res is mostly farmers ont well trained SF (but il have to see)

and i will not make any more versions befor i know i can get them igame (dumb idea to waste the time on a dead project)

IMHO you should keep them in the sweaters, looks much more like a resistance soldier, maybe two different versions? The ones with camouflage shirts for the more experienced guerilla units.

Anyways, it's looking top, mate! I really hope you can get these sorted out! smile_o.gif

Yeah I was thinking you could make 2 different versions as well.  One with the sweater.  Other with the camo jacket and vest.  Thats a good idea.  Just make as many different combinations of the soldiers with diff looking gear and attachments that you can and it will make the addon alot better.

edit: about the vest.  Perhaps you could have a soldier wearing one that looks like this.  A very common type of vest... if im not mistaken, addon makers have already made similar vests to this. Such as from the ORCS motorized soldiers.
