VXR 9 Posted August 9, 2005 Oh...I just wanted to briefly mention not to waste time on an IDF Apache as our mod already has a bunch of them now in various configurations. Â But thanks for mentioning us. Â We appreciate it. Yeah, but we might as well go ahead and do one for our model. Doesn't hurt anything, does it? xnodunitx 0 Posted August 9, 2005 Nice and all but you seem to be missin the point, its the same old bis model, which is the largest reason this one was released,to show that there can be something new.

-HUNTER- 1 Posted August 9, 2005 I voted Dutch AF apache, since The Netherlands are so cool! No seriously because we use(d) our apaches in Afghanistan and Iraq. Israel would be nice also but personally I choose the dutch version.
franze 196 Posted August 9, 2005 the apache on the screenshot I'm showing is a old project of me I didnt finish. Pretty nice texture, I must say. Only problem is, it's still the same old BIS model. Must be a pretty old project then? Our AH-64's Tail

Must be a pretty old project then? Our AH-64's Tail Yes it is a very old project Are you planning to add some more details like bolts and lightning, shadows to the textures? The model looks perfect
franze 196 Posted August 10, 2005 As Nodunit is constantly modifying the textures, you'd have to ask him... I only handle the models.

It will look especially nice on Franze's and Nodunit's professional-level AH-64.
xnodunitx 0 Posted August 10, 2005 Yes,at the time I wasn't sure about adding shadow effects or light effects to the tail or any part of the model, however after retexturing the FIM-92 (stinger you can pull out of the 64D's ingame) I decided it made a rather nice effect,so chance are yes I am going to,also I always use dxdll but I forget that not everyone does with gets rid of the light and shadow effects,as well as weathering, when I started texturing for Franze it was basicly you could say my first time so I'm still in the learning process but getting there eventually, this always means the pack may be delayed as some mapping parts were a bit stretched, unless I can find a way around that I may have to redo a few things (no problem to me but I don't want to make everyone wait forever) PS: sorry if I sounded snotty in that post I just dislike how its always bis apache being used, but the textures were very good ,well I better get ta work, stuff not gonna do it on its own.
xnodunitx 0 Posted August 10, 2005 possible Delay- The next US and WAH-64D release MAY be delayed for a time, mostly because I want the retexture to be either final or one of the final's this means things such as engine textures are being gone over again and redone,I apologize for the ones who were very anxious,I cannot say how long but rest assured I will be commiting all of my time to getting the textures fixed up to more "real". Then again aside from the kind you see in the desert they dont show much wear.
Katar 0 Posted August 10, 2005 Then again aside from the kind you see in the desert they dont show much wear. Considering the maintainence the AH-64 would go through, it is not going to show much wear.
franze 196 Posted August 11, 2005 Something else to keep in mind that how aircraft are maintained and how they look greatly varies from unit to unit. Some units might only be concerned with how well the aircraft runs, while others might want to make sure it remains in almost factory new condition. For example: AH-64A, worn A bit better maintained AH-64A As we already know, a lot of how a machine looks depends on the conditions it operates in. Since we have a wide variety of terrain and conditions availible to us, we can either make specific "upgrades" to demonstrate various conditions or we can try to get the best fit on just one type. A lot depends on your perception.
Katar 0 Posted August 11, 2005 Well personally, I say it looks super wether it looks used or new.
-HUNTER- 1 Posted August 11, 2005 what is the use for a black apache??? If you fly at night it wont make any difference with the dark green normal colours, and it will still show up on radar except when they are flying under it ok, but still you will be able to hear it. I dont think just making a apache black is worth anything, it would be better if you guys made either the Dutch version or the IDF version or both! Not the unrealistic black one, there simply isnt a need for it...
meyamoti 0 Posted August 11, 2005 probably eye candy
xnodunitx 0 Posted August 11, 2005 Yeah its eye candy, for those that like black helicopters (I know I do,I'm makin a custom black apache with bloody teeth and red eyes on the side but I doubt the public would like that much so its gonna be my personal heli..... But don't worry were gonna get to the other nations, currently I'm just remapping so I can fit symbols such as the Dutch one on the engines, also "dirtying up" some textures like shown here, mostly because people though the last ones were too clean, probalem is aside from desert climates these birds dont show much wear at all. http://img327.imageshack.us/my.php?image=betaengine2em.jpg http://img339.imageshack.us/my.php?image=enginebeta29zv.jpg
-HUNTER- 1 Posted August 11, 2005 maybee some black stuff near exhausts... The IR thingy maybee a bit more colour in it... Looking mighty elite so far the pics look nice a bit more roughness in the texture is good... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/manhunter2004/PICT0244.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v453/manhunter2004/PICT0245.jpg maybee these will come in handy? -HUNTER- 1 Posted August 12, 2005 Here is a whole walkaround and the page has also some great links to other informative site's Apache Ah-64A Walkaround its the A model and the post above is the D model NR...
xnodunitx 0 Posted August 12, 2005 Eh not everyone studies the differences betwee A's and D's unfortunatly so ya find alot of "AH64A" walkthrough's are D's.
Katar 0 Posted August 13, 2005 The A has the air-data sensor on top of the rotor. The D and D-NR have theirs on the sides.
xnodunitx 0 Posted August 13, 2005 One way to put it,along with the EFAB change, the cockpits major change, the radar and a few other things I can't tink of right now,oh yeah a slight update. Well I got to say, dxdll along with the binarize effect really adds to the longbow,it doesnt get the bright "mirror" shine the bis apache does either, and to top it off the size of the file is currently standing at around 50 megs. The TADS and PNVS also appear to have an actual "mirror" effect to em along with better light effects for those that are on about the "needs more light and darkness" on the textures. Also the game seems to load it faster and theres less of a stutter in between the crash.
