Guest The Cobra Posted August 3, 2005 OK, three questions; Lets say I've made a custom sound file that someone laughs, so; 1. How do I get it working for OFP? 2. How do I choose to play it in MP? 3. How do I change the radiomessage that shows (when you play the soundfile up)? I did search, but I couldn't find anything... Â Thanks for answers

Daddl 10 Posted August 3, 2005 Remember that your file has to be redistributed by the server to each of the clients. If your soundfile is 250kb and there were 10 players on the server that would mean 2.5mb traffic for the server just to distribute one soundfile - now remember you can have up to ten custom sounds... I think you might understand now why this would be way too big. The server is busy enough sending the game data to all the players, controlling the ai and analysing the players actions. A player joining with a lot of big sounds simply introduces some serious lag into0 a game while his sounds are being redistributed. Be aware that many servers don't allow custom sounds at all or very small sounds only. Ignoring these rules can get you banned on these servers.
Gadger 0 Posted August 4, 2005 Most players have their radio on mute anyhow, so the majority of people cannot hear the soundfile.
