Silverguy82 0 Posted July 10, 2005 I just bought a new computer and I am bringing all my old addons over to the new computer. In the past, with the old computer, when I would run too much addons in 1 folder, I would get a green screen when I would start up the OFP. One of my friends suggested dividing the addons into specific AddOns folders (Example: My WW2 addons, go into my WW2AddOns folder, when I want to use the WW2 addons, I erased WW2 and used it as the Res AddOns folder). And that worked fine. I could get up to 900 mb in one folder. Now that I have my new cpu I tried the same thing, and it will not work. When I run the new cpu with the addons I get a error message. The error message says .. Cannot create 3D Device Adapter 0 (Radeon 9200 ) Fullscreen Resolution 1280x1024, format R5G6B5/D24S8, refresh 60hz Error D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY Anybody know what this is trying to tell me? What do I do about it? The Video Graphics Card I am running is a ATI Radeonâ„¢ 9200 AGP 8X 3D Graphics Hardware Acceleration 128MB Video Memory (128-bit DDR It seems to me to be a video graphics problem, I cannot run addon folders past 600mb's or I get the above message. Any suggestions? Can anyone help? What does that error message mean? and most important what do I do about it? Thanks

Silverguy82 0 Posted July 10, 2005 ok, i have read Avon's take on the video memory thing. This looks interesting Quote[/b] ]even if you're using the latest and/or most stable drivers for your graphics card, this has been know to occur. Several players solved this problem by going into their PC's BIOS program and lowering their AGP aperture size from 256MB to 64MB, for example. For some players, that wasn't enough. They had to also disable their BIOS program's AGP fast write option to finally resolve this problem. Only thing is, I do not know where the BIOS program is or how to acces it. Anyone know where it is or how to access it? Thanks.
gandalf the white 0 Posted July 10, 2005 you get the "choise" to acces it when your system starts up, pay attention to what the black/white letters say . EDIT: though I reccomend you don't do anything without FULLY understanding what it does, Bios = hardware , hardware error = no more pc
Silverguy82 0 Posted July 10, 2005 I restarted the cpu and did not see anything pertaining to bios. I have windows xp, it does not show the info about the cpu like the old dos programs did (which I hate). Is there any other way to gain access to the bios program? Silverguy82 0 Posted July 10, 2005 Success I got it working! Someone suggested at OFPEC.com to create a shortcut for the .exe file I was using to start up the game. Then in the target area put in -nospash -nomap. I tried this and with the -nosplash it did not work. But I tried with only the -nomap and it worked! The target area looked something like this "FlashpointBETA.exe" -nomap hehe yesss! Back to the way it was! Let the good times roll!
