khewett 0 Posted July 5, 2005 Hi all, Still a bit new to these mod's so dont' laugh, much! Currently running OFP GOTY 1.96 and have installed and working Y2K3 mod and dxdll (sweet effects), and Hires versions of the offical 3 islands. Also have added some extra SP missions. Downloaded FDFMOD at the weekend, can I install this alos or should I remove Y2K3 mod 1st to avoid clashs. I think form reading on here you can run several total conversion mods alongside each other but would be grateful if someone would confirm... Thanks Kieran
Thunderbird 0 Posted July 5, 2005 Hi I guess that you're talking about the incoming conversions of the FFUR mod , they aren't released yet , I'll keep the date of release as surprise though. Btw this topic should not be here Edit : PS -> you can't run different conversion mods at the same time cuz each mod has its own confing and its own settings but you can run a mod which doesn't have any config like Sebnam Pack with another one which has a config like FFUR or Y2K3. khewett 0 Posted July 5, 2005 Thanks thunderbird your a gent, answered the question nicely.
@cero 0 Posted July 5, 2005 Yes, you can have as many mod folders as you like. You can run more than one mod folders at the same time too, but like thunderbird84 said, they can't be conversion mods because they normally have their own configuration bins and probably DTA folders too. For FDF, download it and instal it, it will run with dxdll, and it have its own shortcut for you to start the mod. If you are interested in stuff like that checkTheavonlady's OFP FAQ, but for this in particular read this. I hope this helps. @CERO.
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted July 5, 2005 Just tested, you *can* run two total-conversion mods at once, but it only uses the DTA/Bin etc from the last mod launched (Like if you run Y2K3;finmod, it uses the finmod GUI, and vice versa..) But some scripts were missing from FDF etc, and it takes a fair time to load up, and it's kinda pointless, but it is possible But you can have as many total-conversion mods installed as you want, just dont run them at the same time unless theres a reason for it - Ben
khewett 0 Posted July 5, 2005 Sorry Ben just to clarify; I could have Y2K3 and Finish Defence Forces MOD installed at the same time (they would have diffrent shortcuts)? And play each one independently of the other (like 2 games)? But not run them togther - cant think why anyone would do that!! Cheers
@cero 0 Posted July 5, 2005 yeah, that's right. And you are right too, who would want that? lol.
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted July 5, 2005 I suppose if one T'C' mod had lots of addons, and you wanted to use the effects from another one.. Erm.. no one Yeh, to run, say, Y2K3, you'd put -mod=Y2K3 on the end of the shortcut, to make a FDF mod shortcut, you copy that shortcut, and change the line to -mod=finmod If you want to run another mod folder, say UKF, you'd use -mod=finmod;UKF - Ben
@cero 0 Posted July 5, 2005 That's right, and if you make it like that: Quote[/b] ]"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTBETA.EXE" /-nosplash -nomap -mod=whatever mods you use "nosplash" will stop all the logos at the beguining from loading, so loading the game at the beguining is faster, and "nomap" stops the game from crashing if you are using too many addons. I'm sure you know that anyway. Regards. @CERO.
