This new version utilizes the dmx_police pack, and the police Mi-2. And i made their sirens and megaphone work in MP (they not only work, but they are really useful now). 2. Now you can stop the travelling civilians by shouting (when on foot) or by using the sirene (when in police vehicle) or megaphone (in the helicopter). The AI will pull over and stop so you can go to them and check their "papers" to determine whether it's the killer or not (you need to be less than 2 meters away from the civilian, then it will indicate whether it's a normal citizen or the killer - of course you are risking to be killed if it really is the killer). This is really cool feature. There are also some other changes, like that the civilians are no longer shown on the map, so now you can't determine who is the killer by simple looking on the map (when you seen someone and he has no green dot on the map, then you knew that it is the killer, now you don't know, so you actually have a reason to use the new features allowing you to order the civilians to stop). But now it's too hard for killer to plan his attacks, so i think i will make it the opposite - that the civilians AND the killers are marked by green dot. The download is not ready right now, because the whole thing is still in testing phase (but seek, and ye shall find ). Description: In the basics it is same as it's predecessor - you have to either kill as many people as you can, or hunt down the killers and bring them to justice, depending on the side you choose. Here are some new features: - there can be up to 3 killers (each looking like an ordinary man/woman) - cops must be near some vehicle with it's radio turned on, to be able to hear any messages concerning killer's evil doings. - anyone inside a police vehicle, can see all the cops on map. they are shown as blue dots. - the AI are randomly trafficking between the villages. so watch your car (killer or cop), for if they like it they will use it (a cop can lock their cars, so even AI couldn't use them). - the positions of last five killer victims are allways marked on the map - when the killer's sanity drops to zero, he will experience occasional loses of consciousness, and will be marked on map by a big yellow dot. - the killer's "sanity" can be replenished by killings. - after the first civilian victim is killed, the cops are authorized to use helis. the BRDMs are available after two or more cops are killed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** THE KILLER *** ...aka The Psycho, the dark side Your objective is: to kill as many people as you can. Here are the rules you must obey: 1. When there are only 5 civilians remaining, you won the game. 2. There can be up to three killers. But be reasonable - if there are playing only 5 Players or so, on the Police side, then one killer should be enough for them. 3. At the start, first arm yourself at the ammo creates, and when ready, click in your map and you will be parachuted there. 4. When a killer dies, he is taken to the prison from where the others can still free him (just find some BIG BOOM PACKAGE and use it at the prison wall). 5. When all killers are imprisoned the game is over. 6. Every killer has his own "sanity" Watch it carefully! When your sanity drops to zero, you will start to lose your consciousness, and because of your funny behaviour, the cops will know where you are! You can replenish your sanity by killing people or cops, but when it reaches zero then there is no way back. You can check your sanity from the action menu. 7. Watch out for unlocked police vehicles! Anyone, who is inside any police vehicle, can see the cops (blue dots) on the map! 8. All civilians are marked by green dots, and can be seen by the player (killer or cop) without the need to be inside any vehicle. 9. You can take a "hostage" and order them to move where you like. (well, there are some problems still, but it should work) 10. If you are playing alone,you can take advantage by killing the police radio dispatcher, located in the green tent on the airport. While the tent is empty, all police radios will remain silent, and the cops won't know what is happening. But be ready - the cops can replace the dead dispatcher either by themselves, or any civilian. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** THE COP *** ...aka The Saviour, the light side (but that doesn't mean he can't take bribes, right? Your objective is: to find the criminals, and bring them to justice! There is only one way to do this, and your gun will lead the path. Here are the rules you must obey: 1. You will lose the game, if there will be no more than 5 civilians. 2. You can't kill civilians, so don't bother trying. 3. When you die, you will be parachuted over the airport. While airborne, you can change your location by clicking into the map and you will be teleported to the nearest respawn. 4. Every police vehicle has radio in it, accesible from action menu. Don't forget to turn it on, or you will not receive any messages about killer's evil doings. 5. The radio is dependent on the police dispatcher present in the tent at the airport - if he's not there, your radios won't work. You can replace the dead dispatcher by yourself, or by any other civilian (through the "Force cooperation" action). 6. ALWAYS lock your vehicle! Anyone, who is inside any police vehicle, can see the cops (blue dots) on the map! Don't let the killer be that one! 7. All civilians are marked by green dots, and can be seen by player (killer or cop), without the need to be inside any vehicle. 8. There is no rule number 8, but someday... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Planned features: * This version is made so it could be used as a template, so you can easily adapt it to your favourite island, and even change the vehicles used. I won't go into any explanations right now, because the scripts are a mess and i don't want to encourage anyone to mess with them until it's all nice shiny and clean. * I want to add a BUS traffic, and NPCs able to use it. All the work is done, it's only a question of time when i put it together. You will like this, the Buses are sticking to the road like they should, there are three independent but linked Bus routes on Nogova, and those cool sounds! Be ready for the need of another addon with sounds of station messages. * When i started to work on this mission, i was using some cool addons like the Map Fact Nogova island, Police gaz24, Police BRDM, Police MI-2, and so on. Each of them altered so the sirens sounds could be heard in MP, and so on. I removed those addons, just because it was easier to track the bugs without them, but now when the work is almost done, i am planing to make another version with rich addons support. Not just once at the mission start. * Removed code preventing both the Killers and Cops to order AI units to move to a position defined by map-click. 5133p39 16 Posted June 3, 2005 Uploaded MORS_killer v1.2 - Added smoke rockets (white,red,green) to OH-58 When these rockets impacts, they will spawn a smokeshell of the appropriate color. Used to mark the position of a killer or whatever. The generated smoke can be a little laggy - i set the cloudlets size to 0.5 (twice as the standard value), but it is generating a nice dense smoke The only difference in this version in comparison to version 1.1 are those smoke rockets, so you can use 1.1 or 1.2 - whatever you want, as long as it is used with mission version 3.6.2 and higher (although i STRONGLY recommend to use the stable 3.6.3) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Well, there is never enough time for testing :-) But you don't need to download every new version released. If you are satisfied with features of version 3.6.1 there is no need to download the newer versions. 3.6.1 is the oldest released version. needs MORS_radio.zip and MORS_killer.zip 3.6.2 is total rewrite - which, unfortunately, contains some new bugs which are corrected later in 3.6.3 needs MORS_radio.zip and newer MORS_killer.1.1.zip 3.6.3 is a bugfix for version 3.6.2 - with very little added/changed features needs MORS_radio.zip and MORS_killer.1.1.zip 3.6.4 is a version made specially so it can utilize the new MORS_killer.1.2.zip - which proveides the OH-58 with smoke rockets. 5133p39 16 Posted June 4, 2005 After a extensive testing of version 3.6.4 we found a very very serious bug - the Killer was being able to teleport whenever he wanted to whatever location by single mapclick. I want to apologize to everyone for this stupid mistake. But i have good news! This last bug was corrected in version 3.6.5, and after that, we didn't find any other bugs! If you take civ under your control (as a cop) and give him weapon, he/she starts killing the AI cops and reports them as enemy. In a game just a minute ago one dude was cop, driving around, then he suddenly warped to prison island and a little later he was forced to debriefing. USE THE VERSION 3.6.5 WITH ITS APPROPRIATE ADDONS (and be sure all of you have the same versions). I was playing the version 3.6.5 right now, on our dedicated server, with 4-9 people, for almost 5 hours, without ANY errors, troubles, or crashes to the desktop. I do know how the game ends :-) -sometimes getting out of truck caused one player to break legs -I took M21 (I had AK47 in hand) from heli and suddenly there was lots of ammo all around the heli. No problem, it was fun but I think it could be better with some improvements and tweaks. The main problem is that it's really easy to detect the killer because he's not marked on map and the civs are, and also, with heli, right clicking on a killers vehichle reveals him even from over 1 km away. I have sent it to the OFPEC but it's still pending (and it is now obsolete version they have there). I have sent it even to OFP.info, but it seems they aren't interested in this type of mission. ...and by the way: new version released 5.0rc4 Everything is ready and tested, so the next release will be 5.0 final. Then i will focus on the making of the template version (which is almost done anyway) which will allow anyone to use this mission with any other island and addons (like with the nice DMX police pack, for example).
