What Is The Storyline/Setting For the Campaign

Recommended Posts

I love this game biggrin_o.gif The M-60 was mad, open up for 2 mins and EVERYTHING on the map was dead, you could call for chopper extraction, CAS....hand signals were an integral part as well. This game was the precursor to Wargasm and OFP biggrin_o.gif

I think BIS could introduce a new side to the conflict, maybe more sides, like enemy rebels has the oposite of the FIA guys, these would opose the US forces "peace keeping" operations, or maybe they will include more NATO countries has we have already seen a unimog truck, maybe even the aussies  . Who knows? I think it will be hard for them to make a fictitional modern day conflict, atleast a believable one where the oposition isnt just a bunch of poorly equiped rebel forces, that wouldnt be really interesting... unless we get to play on the rebel side that is  .

Just make it a U.N. run war, you'll have all the opportunity for the different sides you want.  Start it out as sanctions against some country, guarding the border against illegal traffic (possibly interesting scenarios could come from that), and let it explode into an 'Armed Assault' against the neighbor that is home to the 'U.N. oppressors'.

I have nothing against playing as a US soldier. I'm more familiar with "west" weapons than "east".

Here's an idea: Navy SEALs. Train and fight with rebells/resistance. Thats what the SEALs are well known for.

You'll also get a varied selection of weapons from both sides.

Some times you could coordinate assaults with both the rebells and west teams and some times covert ops with only your own men.

Hi, I agree completely withe these two quotes. I would love to be playing both as secret resistance forces (in Eastern Europe - of course smile_o.gif ) and participate in sanction missions as Scrub posts. Especially some secret SpecOps missions before the war actually starts (i.e. like SAS and other elite forces in Iraq, 1991).

But most lovely would be a resistance force-campaign involving larger cities with urban war (here I'm thinking of Hungary, 1956 and Praha in 1968), basements (a bit like 2nd mission in Red Hammer, finding the hide outs!) hiding weapons and communication cells etc. Maybe even forests with castles enabling fighting in the woods and at the castle itself: seizing the gate --> the garages --> the castle itself. Then an objective could be to take out devastating machine gun nests, for instance.

Anyway.. I can't wait until the best day in 4th quarter 2005 (here I'm thinking of release date, of course wink_o.gif. But if they can't make it on time I'm getting desperate! sad_o.gif
