4ntifa 0 Posted January 15, 2002 The original post doesn't seem to exist anymore. Anyway, the problem was weird movement with a Radeon gfx card: graphics ran smoothly, but the ground seemed to "rush under my feet" at a regular interval. I tried different settings, only to find out that some of them don't come to effect until rebooting - naturally the configuration screen doesn't mention that. I finally got to do some more testing, this time rebooting after each change. I found out that with 8-bit stencil enabled and W-buffer disabled, the problem disappears. If that doesn't do the trick, try also disabling vertical sync.
Wobble 1 Posted January 15, 2002 I think I know what your talking about.. its NOT an FPS thing.. but insted it just kind jerks along sometimes?? do you have a soundblaster card? because they are known to cause this in several games.
pistol654 0 Posted January 20, 2002 My problem is a FPS problem. I get a very inconsistent fps rate. I have the new Radeon 8500 with the updated drivers, but my old Radeon ran more smoothly than this one does. I'm guessing it's just a driver issue and will be corrected in due time though, atleast that's what I hope.
