majoris 10 Posted April 27, 2005 Hey everyone, I'm really not sure if this is in the right section of the BIS forums, my apologies if it belongs elsewhere. I've noticed a fair amount of OFP players and editors who are either in the military at the moment or who have previously served, most of whom seek realism in addons, configurations, and mission design. As a weekend warrior in the Army with the time to spare, I'd be more than willing to help establish a group of players and mission makers composed of Reservists and vets devoted to promoting realism in all aspects of the game. And who else better to work with - fellow servicemen. I think a group like this could accomplish a great deal for the OFP community. Just an idea, let me know what you guys think. marcusjm 0 Posted April 27, 2005 I've been wondering about the same thing. Though it was a long time since I did my service . Check my post about tactical vignettes(also top thread in this forum). I would be interested in attempting to emulate those in OFP terms. marcus
raptor 6 actual 13 Posted April 28, 2005 I think it's a great idea. I know lots of ofp players are not in the military presently, or are not old enough to serve yet, but think that this is a great learning experience for all. It is only a game, but think about those players who go on to serve, and they can look back and say, "Hell, I remember this tactic on a game I played! Let's try it that way!" Maybe even an aid to just getting the idea of how we did it when we were active duty. Hope the idea works.
marcusjm 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Any suggestions which vignette would be best to start with? One has to remember that OFP has limitations even if they are fewer than 2001 . I'm thinking of using FDF and making co-op missions (in order to avoid too many problems with AI issues) marcus
