OFP Startup Parameters

Recommended Posts

Okay, so there's:

-nomap Which prevents OFP from loading all addons into memory on startup.  Results in less lag but longer mission load times is my understanding.

-nosplash Which disables the splashscreen (Sorry BIS/CM, just got really sick of looking at it; we're sure you understand)

-mod=foldername Which calls on additional folders containing addons in the structure 'OFP/foldername/addons/your pbo's'

Those are the only ones I've used.  I saw it someplace a long time ago, but now I can't find it.  What's the switch syntax to automatically join a server on startup?  Are there other handy startup parameters I didn't mention?

This will make a good reference thread.

Quote[/b] ] -x= Numeric, used to set resolution width

-y= Numeric, used to set resolution height

-nosplash Disables intro and codemasters splash screens

-nomap Uses an alternate memory mapper for additional addon capacity

-cfg= selects a config file like your flashpoint.cfg

-mod= Allows you to subdivide your addons into different folders, folder names seperated by semi-colons

-port= Port to host dedicated server on

-password= Password to join dedicated server

-sockets Selects sockets-mode for server hosting, can not be used with -dplay

-dplay Selects DirectPlay-mode for server hosting, not available on linux, can not be combined with -sockets

-ranking= Dunno, ask benu or one of the other server gurus.

-serverconfig= Config file for server specific stuff like admin password and mission selection

-netlog location for network game log files

-host Kickes in dedicated server mode on non-dedicated-server exe, (windows only obviously)

-connect= Client-side, server to connect to

-name= Client-side, User name

Actually, thanks to Kegetys who told me where to look. He posted a list on his site, but I forgot to bookmark the direct link and it's not linked otherwise so I posted that list some long time ago.

Hey, that's great.  Thanks Hardrock and Shin!

EDIT: I tried to use '-connect=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx' and it wouldn't work. Turns out '-port=' is used for the purpose of specifying the port of the server to connect to. I suppose it's a switch option for a switch option, either '-connect=' or '-host='.
