cms81586 0 Posted March 2, 2005 I just upgraded from 98 to XP and now I'm having problems with Flashpoint. I have version 1.96 and I'm getting what looks like a rainbow with about every color you could think of on the screen. Anyone know offhand what the problem may be? I'm running a 1800+ AMD with a Gforce FX5200 running the latest drivers.
cms81586 0 Posted March 2, 2005 Someone on opflashpoint.org posted a pic that looks similar to my problem. Here is the link... http://forums.opflashpoint.org/viewtopic.php?t=17597

breaker44 0 Posted March 4, 2005 This is happening again. I am using -nomap and I have no addons. I have OFP GOTY. Any help? -Breaker Out
Placebo 31 Posted March 4, 2005 Judging by all your graphical problems I think there is a problem either with your graphics card, drivers or directx installation, I'd suggest taking a screenshot if you can and posting it in your thread, it helps if you stick to one thread so people know what's been suggested and what you've tried
breaker44 0 Posted March 4, 2005 @Placebo The problem looks extremely similar to the screenshot taken from the other board. I believe it is the same problem. I dunno what the solution is tho. Arg. -Breaker Out
breaker44 0 Posted March 7, 2005 I tried -nomap, doesn't do a damn thing. I'm sick of having to jack around w/ my preferences! Why didn't BIS see this coming? -Breaker Out
Heatseeker 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Your detailed system specs? Graphics driver version? Maybe its a problem with the latest nvidia drivers, your graphics card and OPF , Maybe reinstalling the game would solve the problem, maybe you should remove your current drivers, run driver cleaner and try a previous driver version. Do other games have this issue has well? Being more specific could help others to help you .
breaker44 0 Posted March 7, 2005 I am running win XP, I have Direct X 9.0, I have the most recent NVidia driver for GeForce, and I have the dreaded "double cursor" problem. Man, GOTY really is a piece of crap. Running a pentium 4 on an Optiplex. Breaker Out
breaker44 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Oh, plus I tried reinstalling a gazillion times. -BreakerOut

breaker44 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Sorry, but it is the truth. I still have the rainbow thing, the cursor thing is a secondary that is easy to solve. BreakerOut
theavonlady 2 Posted March 7, 2005 May I suggest that you install an earlier stable version of the Nvidia drivers. Sometimes the newest versions cause hiccups, which themselves have to be fixed. Latest isn't always greatest. After uninstalling Nvidia drivers, before installing a previous version, run a utility that makes sure to clean up any leftover Nvida files. Go to Guru 3D's downloads page and look for programs like Detonator Destroyer or Detonator RIP to do the job for you. Patience is a virtue.
Placebo 31 Posted March 7, 2005 GOTY really is a piece of crap. Because it doesn't run perfectly for you? Runs perfectly for most people, for others a little system adjustment here and there may be required but that's about it.
breaker44 0 Posted March 7, 2005 It's fixed. -BreakerOut

Heatseeker 0 Posted March 7, 2005 It's fixed.-BreakerOut I am also curious about the "fix" but happy that you finaly get to play the fantastic achievement that OPF really is . Now start filling those mod and mission folders .
breaker44 0 Posted March 8, 2005 It seems that I had to keep retrying the -nomap thing for the target on the shortcut. Mebbe I was typing that in wrong. On the same subject, can I plug the -nomap thing in for things like CSLA and FDF shortcuts? Or, could I import the campaign to my GOTY files? -BreakerOut
Placebo 31 Posted March 9, 2005 It seems that I had to keep retrying the -nomap thing for the target on the shortcut. Mebbe I was typing that in wrong. So it was your typing skills that were "a piece of crap"? You can use -nomap for any mod shortcut, the FDF exe uses it by default but if you prefer you can create your own shortcut which will work with the FDF mod, it should look something like..... Can't remember if the CSLA mod has an exe with also includes -nomap but again you can manually create the shortcut just change which folder the shortcut is looking at. breaker44 0 Posted March 9, 2005 No GOTY is still a piece of crap, but it gets the job done. But, thanks for you help. I truly appreciate it. It's good to know I can look to your neck of the woods for help. -BreakerOut
breaker44 0 Posted March 9, 2005 Ok, when I do this to the CSLA shortcut, I get an error box that tells me that I'm out of memory, and the buffer is wrong. Any help? -Breaker Out
theavonlady 2 Posted March 9, 2005 Ok, when I do this to the CSLA shortcut, I get an error box that tells me that I'm out of memory, and the buffer is wrong. Any help?-Breaker Out Either you didn't key in -nomap correctly, again. Or are you starting up just with CSLA's addons or with a lot of other mod folders at the same time?
