Recommended Posts

Hi,just loaded-up OPF and all the lastest updates and i've noticed crackling sound when traveling in Jeeps/Trucks also i am unable to enable HT&L in the video setup.

I've noticed that if i swop settings in the audio setup the crackling disappears briefly when continuing the game, only to return when i get back into the jeep.

I have the lastest soundblaster XP compatible drivers and the lastest nvidia ones,

My System-

AthlonXP1700

256mbRam

Geforce3 Ti500

soundblasterlive player 1024

Thanks for any help. biggrin.gif

Did you run "Operation Flashpoint Preferences" and do an autodetect before trying to switch it in game?

It's a bug between OFP, XP and SBLive. To enable HW T&L you need to run OFP-Preferences and from there you should change the 'directx' to 'directx HW T&L'.

I battled with this problem for months on both my computers.

One system is running WINXP and the other WIN98SE.  Both had the same problem with the      ling and poping sounds plus foot steps from soldiers that were no where to be seen ever since I loaded the orginal game.  I finally broke down and after years of faithful commitment to Soundblaster products I I purchased and installed a Hercules Gamesurround FortiSSimo2.  THE PROBLEM IS GONE!!!.  Bottom line here is either the current Soundblaster drivers are not compatible with this game or this game is not compatible with Sounblaster sound cards.
