LauryThorn 0 Posted January 24, 2005 Hello! It's been a while, but now I have two computers, one of which runs Debian GNU/Linux and the other is my computer for playing games, and it runs Windows. Immediately after I got that Windows computer, I started playing OFP again. I started with the original 1985 campaign. I had a little trouble with the Guardian mission, in Dourdan. * First time I played this, the convoy just stopped there and the crew jumped out of the trucks. No idea why. * Second time, the destroyed T72 blocked the way, and they were unable to continue. They just sort of stuck there. * Third time, they drove around the city and I got to finish the mission. I don't know if anyone is interested, I just thought to bring this up. And sorry for the bad English!
theavonlady 2 Posted January 24, 2005 It's been a while It's been a very long time, hasn't it? About the problems, never experienced them myself.
LauryThorn 0 Posted January 25, 2005 It's been a while It's been a very long time, hasn't it? Oh yes, I haven't played OFP for about one and half years. I was an active member on these boards about 2-3 years ago. Wonder if you remembered me or why did you say that?

Wolven Zero 0 Posted January 25, 2005 Checked the website for the campaign updates? As I recall there being a small set of update files for the campaigns such as 1985 due to the change in Flashpoint coding.
jakerod 254 Posted January 26, 2005 It could just be one of those random OFP things that seems to happen every so often. Such as in like cutscenes when someone is supposed to survive all of a sudden a stray shot hits them or a grenade or something. I think it is just a random occurence since it doesnt happen all the time.
theavonlady 2 Posted January 26, 2005 Checked the website for the campaign updates? As I recall there being a small set of update files for the campaigns such as 1985 due to the change in Flashpoint coding. The 1985 CWC campaign patch has been gone from BIS' OFP downloads page ever since the 1.96 upgrade patch was released. The 1985 campaign patch was preapplied to the GOTY CD so GOTY users have it on. For OFPR CD owners, they would have to first upgrade to 1.91, then apply the 1985 campaign patch and only then upgrade from 1.91 to 1.96. BTW, the same is true for Codemaster's patch for the Red Hammer campaign and that holds true for GOTY users as well. There were RH patches produced for versions 1.85, 1.90 and 1.91. Neither BIS nor CM issued patches for users already at 1.96 who have not previously applied the 1985 patch (Resistance CDs only) or the RH patch (all CDs). LauryThorn 0 Posted January 27, 2005 Oh, I have the GOTY version. I just put the discs in and installed, I haven't patched it at all (yet). (I bought the original OFP when it was published, and then Red Hammer and then Resistance. I noticed now that the CWC disc did not work anymore, so I purchased a second-hand GOTY set. )
theavonlady 2 Posted January 27, 2005 Oh, I have the GOTY version. I just put the discs in and installed, I haven't patched it at all (yet). OK. Then you should just upgrade straight to the lastest version, V.196. However, that is not likely to resolve anything in the 1985 campaign that you're reporting here. LauryThorn 0 Posted January 27, 2005 OK. Then you should first install the Red Hammer campaign patch for V1.85 (GOTY's CD version) Is that, and "the Red Hammer 1.85 Compatibility patch", two different things? Your FAQ states that one does not need to install the latter?
