Non-Solid Soldiers

Recommended Posts

Hello, I wasn't sure whether this topic belonged to 02 troubleshooting, so I moved this over here.  Could Mods delete the old topic  (Four legged freaks)?

O2 newbie here.  I've just used ODLOD explorer to extract and edit the Angelina P3D from the O.PBO and as you can see I'm having the same ghosting (being able to walk through stuff... basically they're non-solid T1000s) models as other people are.  However searching the topics, none of the solutions (such as adding mass to components to the GEO lod don't seem to work)  Does anybody have any idea what I'm doing wrong?  Your help is always appreciated.  02 page below:

Nephilim mentioned something about making sure the 1 lods (I'm not sure whether he meant 1.000 resolution or first lod) don't swap with the Geo lod.  Most of the topics regarding making object solids are about static objects or vehicles, not player models.

At the moment they can be shot, and they their mass seems to be keeping them on the ground ok.  (ie, when you shoot them or throw a grenade at them they don't fly off into outer space... a problem I was having before).  The weird thing is that they can walk through each other, through other player models, through buildings and through vehicles... pretty crazy.

Again I'm very confused about what's going wrong here.  Could this be an ODLOD explorer issue?  If there's anyone who can help me fix this problem, I would again much appreciate it..

lol

not he, she ;)

generaly check if ut resolution lods (0.000 - som reso number)

dont swap with the geo lod

so taht teh geolod is a bit bigger then the reso lods

u can also try to u take a default bis´units geolod and just

move soem vertices and polygons

another thing that could cause ur models be ghosts

is that teh lods are too thin

for example the geolods parts have to be at least 0,5 m thick

(1/2 grid square)

aswelll check if ur lods are not open

meanin that u some vertices unconnected at an object

check aswell if the seperate componts have been named properly

example component01 or component13

dont texture geolods

give the geolods components aside from the component tags as well selection names like hlava, ruce etc

if nothin works, pm me

Thanks Nephilim,

I worked out the problem, it was actually the Geometry LOD selection itself was corrupted. I deleted the whole Geo LOD selection, made a new LOD, defined it as a Geo LOD, copy and pasted a working Geo Lod model into the selection and now it works fine.

Thanks for your help on this!! And sorry I thought you were a guy, easy mistake to make in these forums. biggrin_o.gif

I de Pbo the O.pbo file but am unsure as to the name of the angelina model.

What is the correctname for the p3d file from the o.pbo file for angelina?

Thanks found the file,

But now I am having problems opening it in oxygen, what other files do you need to have with it to open it. I have all the paa and pac files from data.pbo, but where is the config file?

Oxygen will only open MLOD format p3d files.

The angelina model is an ODOL format p3d file.

Run it through ODOL explorer and save it as MLOD, you may have to tidy some of the selections and vertices a little bit afterwards.

you are having problems opening it because it is in OLOD form, you need to download odol explorer to change it into mlod form which you can open in oxygen.

her config is part of the main ofp config which you need to change into .cpp format as it is in .bin format

edit: doh im a slow typer tounge_o.gif
