Chumpalumpa 0 Posted January 10, 2002 When you are in charge of a squad of men, how do you tell how much ammo they have left, and how do you order them to pick up ammo at the ammo depots in the towns? For instance, in the Commander level, there are 3 places you need to attack. By the third area, all my guys start complaining they have no ammo. It would make sense to have them reload at the town before the last, but I do not know how to do it. Thanks!
Dr Jekyll 0 Posted January 10, 2002 A general "All, rearm!" command that tells all selected units to seek out ammo for their current weapon nearby, or alternately grab a weapon that lies nearest the units current weapon in handling and use.
whisperFFW06 0 Posted January 10, 2002 All units say when they have only one magazine left for their current weapon. It is time to preoccupate yourself about magazines . Perhaps a bit too late, some time, you're right. A script for handling the general rearm feature would be difficult, but feasible. Have to check the presence of ammo nearby, and direct each unit to the good rearm point. Tough... Really difficult Whis'
christophercles 0 Posted January 10, 2002 Also, if your coming from the second town, and youve killed all the russians, you can tell your guys to pick up thier weapons.

Currently, the menu is empty if more then one unit is selected. It's pretty annoying, the way it is today. That's also one reason why I usually take a different weapon (and order the same to my mates), since then you/they get a full ammo loadout at once..... Placebo 29 Posted January 10, 2002 Yup I completely agree, there's nothing worse than having just escaped a firefight and you have to sit and tell each soldier individually to go heal, there should be the option for "all heal" then those who aren't injured ignore it, those that are go to heal at the medic who then heals them in numerical order. WhoCares 0 Posted January 10, 2002 I'm pretty sure you don't want them getting healed in numerical order - imagine '2' was hit in the legs 2 miles away
Placebo 29 Posted January 10, 2002 LMAO actually yeah I was just thinking about that, well how bout first come first healed, if there's a tie then it's down to the number?
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 10, 2002 I also think that medics should be able to heal units instead of the units selecting "Heal at Medic".

Ideally this shouldn't happen, but that's the kind of bug that would be likely to show up. In real life you call for a medic right (unless you're shot in the mouth   ) In order for the medic to be aware that you are hurt, you have to shout, or your mates have to see you get hit. In OFP you can't call the medic's attention to another hurt soldier (unless you're co). And the medic doesn't actually hear you call out "2, Injured!" It goes via the commander. This is actually a flaw in the game (IMO), that you cannot yourself call the medic or call in help for wounded mate. I'm not sure I have a point with all this....
