DeLiltMon 0 Posted September 30, 2004 After binarizing the UKF Land Rovers and viewing in game, the driver, gunner and cargo proxies are all changed from what they were pre-binarizing to one where the the soldier is standing up and facing 90 degrees to the left of their original position and the icon in squad bar thing is missing. Â Has anyone encountered this problem before and does anyone know how to solve it. I should mention that I used Col Klink's BinarizeIt interface for Binarize and that there are 3 pbos, one for each Land Rover variant plus another one that contains all the common textures for all 3. Footmunch 0 Posted September 30, 2004 Just guessing here, but have you checked that the p3d proxy files in the O2 data3d folder and the binarize data folder are the same (size/date/etc)? That missing icon is ringing some distant bells, but I can't remember what the problem was... poo.
DeLiltMon 0 Posted September 30, 2004 I haven't checked that no, will have a look when I get home from work, thanks Footmunch I take it they differ then I need to replace them?
Footmunch 0 Posted September 30, 2004 I'm guessing you could just copy the p3d files in the O2 data3d dir over the top. Might want to make a backup first. Â
DeLiltMon 0 Posted September 30, 2004 Hmm there doesn't seem to be any p3ds in the Binarize data folder I had another go at it this time not using BinarizeIt and it still this same, however this time I could see what it's doing as the DOS window didn't close automatically before I could read it. There seem to be a fair few errors in the list Quote[/b] ]E:\Binarize>bin ukflr_90gs Convert model ukflr_90gs\UKFLR_90GS.p3d -> Opt\ukflr_90gs\UKFLR_90GS.p3d ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gs.p3d:1100: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.06 ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gs.p3d:1100: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.07 File 'ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure Convert model ukflr_90gs\UKFLR_90GSCAM.p3d -> Opt\ukflr_90gs\UKFLR_90GSCAM.p3d ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gscam.p3d:0.75: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.06 ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gscam.p3d:0.75: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.07 ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gscam.p3d:1100: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.06 ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gscam.p3d:1100: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.07 File 'ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure Convert model ukflr_90gs\UKFLR_90GSDES.p3d -> Opt\ukflr_90gs\UKFLR_90GSDES.p3d ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gsdes.p3d:0.75: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.06 ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gsdes.p3d:0.75: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.07 File 'ukflrtext\ukfbonnethingedes.pac' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gsdes.p3d:1100: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.06 ukflr_90gs\ukflr_90gsdes.p3d:1100: Bad proxy object definition proxy:cargo.07 File 'ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure File 'ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa' not found W:\c\Poseidon\LIB\fileServer.cpp(137) : Cache failure Convert model ukflr_90gs\vspoloh.p3d -> Opt\ukflr_90gs\vspoloh.p3d Cannot open texture ukflr_90gs\mutt_backsklg.paa Cannot open texture ukflr_90gs\jeep_kab_sklo1.paa Cannot open texture ukflrtext\ukfbonnethingedes.pac ukflr_90gs\Car_Door_Open.wav ukflr_90gs\Car_Door_Shut.wav ukflr_90gs\CloseDoorL.sqs ukflr_90gs\CloseDoorR.sqs ukflr_90gs\CloseDoors.sqs ukflr_90gs\config.cpp ukflr_90gs\CppStuff.txt ukflr_90gs\DieselLoop2.wav ukflr_90gs\Driver.sqs ukflr_90gs\gasgauge.sqs ukflr_90gs\LiftTilt.sqs ukflr_90gs\LowerTilt.sqs ukflr_90gs\mayak.sqs ukflr_90gs\numbers.sqs ukflr_90gs\OpenDoorL.sqs ukflr_90gs\OpenDoorR.sqs ukflr_90gs\PoliceSirenLoop2.wav ukflr_90gs\ReadMe UKFLR90GS.txt ukflr_90gs\sgs_zvuk.sqs ukflr_90gs\vsplesk.sqs 20 File(s) copied E:\Binarize>
Footmunch 0 Posted October 1, 2004 Yeah, that bad proxy definition message looks pretty 'indicative'. Make sure that each one's just a simple three vertex poly.
DeLiltMon 0 Posted October 1, 2004 Ok, will double check them, thanks again  And I thought Binarizing would be the easiest part

DeLiltMon 0 Posted October 1, 2004 Well it lasted until I downloaded Binarize. Found the proxy problem, I had a couple of extra cargo proxies in there that I removed but hadn't removed the named selections for them. The driver, gunner and cargo anims not working seems to have been down to binarize not copying over the anims folder so that's now solved That leaves the icon problem and these to track down now Quote[/b] ]Convert model ukflr110gs\UKFLR110GS.p3d -> Opt\ukflr110gs\UKFLR110GS.p3d ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:jeepdriver.0 1 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:jeepcodriver .01 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:cargo.05 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:cargo.02 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:cargo.04 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:cargo.06 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:cargo.03 ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d: Proxy object should be single face proxy:cargo.07 Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component23:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component24:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component25:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component26:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component27:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component28:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component29:geometryView Strange convex component ukflr110gs\ukflr110gs.p3d in Component30:geometryView Convert model ukflr110gs\UKFLR110GSCAM.p3d -> Opt\ukflr110gs\UKFLR110GSCAM.p3d No neighbourgh Shape ukflr110gs\ukflr110gscam.p3d:geometryView - bad components Convert model ukflr110gs\UKFLR110GSDES.p3d -> Opt\ukflr110gs\UKFLR110GSDES.p3d No neighbourgh Shape ukflr110gs\ukflr110gsdes.p3d:geometryView - bad components Any ideas as to why the icon isn't working? DeLiltMon 0 Posted October 1, 2004 I've worked my way through the list of errors and after a few bottles of Stella realised that the answer to the icon problem was staring me in the face, the texture files themselves were missing from the binarized folder, so a quick bit of copying and problem solved Thanks for your help Footmunch
