Ground textures final release

Recommended Posts

Ok guys

here it is finally, the final release for my textures. I included allmost all resistance textures. The have now numerous transitions between eachother and my new ones, that's why this file is so big. But a lot of people are working with WRPtool and that's not capable of making transition textures so I added them for you. I also made a small Island, named Scoutland, for showing off the textures imo not for being a nice Island tounge_o.gif .

Here's a list with all transitions:

Downloading right now. You've already proven your talent in texturing, so I'm looking forward to trying out the demo island.

Alright, I've just flown across the island in an A10 to check out the different textures. Here's a list of pros and cons -

Pros -

The GT.jpg texture above shown above looked great on the island!

The mountain and rock textures looked very good.

The ocean floor / the brown rock texture pretty good.

The forest texture is also good.

Cons -

I didn't really like the grass texture. It looked OK from up high, but when you come down close, it's not so good.

Some of the textures(mainly the desert one) looked a bit pattern-like.

Overall, I think you did a good job.

By the way, you didn't show all the textures in the scoutland island, did you? I see some textures above I don't recall seeing.

Suggestions -

Redo the grass textures a little - mainly the one closest to the desert.

Re-do the sand texture - the one with the cracks in the ground.

Thanks for your reply, indeed some textures are better then others. Indeed, not all the textures are on the Island. The Grass texture is not really my favorite, it's a bit to much 'pixel' like. And also the problem with the sand/desert texture is not very easy to solve, from the ground it looks ok, but from the air you can see the repetition, because one way or the other it still is a repetition tounge_o.gif .

Anyway if I don't get more feedback from you guys, then I'm not going to change it. So please if you have any comments let me know so it's worth to update it, because its a lot of work to make them.

Cheers,

Wouter

Nice work (again) Wacht, pretty big download mind, but are you sure WRPTool doesn't make transitions? I'm sure it does, i might be wrong as I havn't made an island in a while, but i'm sure my custom textures were able to be made into transitions with BIS textures using WRPTool??
