scousejedi 0 Posted August 25, 2004 Don't know if this is old news but I only saw it today ...... I'm afraid I have some sad news. My current hosting ISP, HobbyVista.com, has contacted me to say that due to our bandwidth usage, they will no longer be able to host us for free. This means that AFV INTERIORS will be closing our doors, probably for good, at the end of this month (August). As long term readers know, we have had to move the site a few times over the past couple of years for this same reason, and I'm not interested in doing that again. We just seem to be unlucky in our free hosting decisions. At this point, I have no plans to continue the web site with another host who also could turn around in a year or so and lower the boom on us once again as our popularity begins to hit their limited budget allowance. I also have no plans on making AFV INTERIORS a pay site, as our numerous contributors have provided material and images for many years with the understanding that it would be placed in free access for all. Copyright issues also will not allow the making of CD copies of the material for distribution, so that is out of the question also. So, if you have a favorite vehicle page, or a number of favorite vehicle pages, now is the time to download and store them for your own use in the future. At this point I do not know what will happen with the material, but it is possible that it will not be seen on the net again. I will post here any news, so drop in again toward the end of the month to see what is happening. Thanks for all your support over the years, and thanks indeed to the many individuals, organizations, governments and military agencies for your contributions and support. Parker Hale 0 Posted August 25, 2004 Sorry to hear the sad news, wish i could help in some way but my time and resources are very limited. What would you need to keep the site going? Parker Hale
hellfish6 7 Posted August 25, 2004 It's a shame - that was a great resource. Though this pertains to addon makers, I'm going to move it to OT as it doesn't actually involve addon making.
