Winters 1 Posted August 21, 2004 Hello all, After some recent nastiness on my computer i had to reformat my hard drive and ever since i am unable to update OFP from v1.75. I am currently trying to update things like my BIOS and ASPI layer but i wanted to know how i can find what my motherboard is and what the chipset/cpu type i am using. I built my rig 3 years ago and most of the docs i had got lost over time and my recent move. All i know is its a P4 1.9ghz and the MB is a gigabyte but thats not enough. I tried right clicking on my computer and checking the devices but that didnt give the info i needed. Any suggestions? thanks in advance. edit: i am also using Win XP. Mister Frag 0 Posted August 22, 2004 Run MSINFO32 to see fairly detailed information about your system. Another place to look for a description of your motherboard model is the BIOS's startup screen right after you turn on or reboot the system. Exactly what are the problem symptoms? Winters 1 Posted August 22, 2004 this is the most common error message i get, although sometimes it refers to the resistance campaign pbo and sometimes it says the disc may be dammaged. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">Verifying Operation Flashpoint, version 1.75... Error found in file Res\AddOns\O.pbo (012e4bac!=af3d32c6) Operation Flashpoint: Updating version 1.75 to version 1.96... Some error occurred during patch installation. Patch file is probably dammaged. You may need to download it again. Error in file RES\ADDONS\O.pbo, phase 1. Thanks for the tip, i will try it.
Winters 1 Posted August 22, 2004 Ok i updated my BIOS and my ASPI and it still wont update. One thing though is that it will update on my kids PC and it will work on mine when its on her hard drive but when i tried to copy it from her hard drive to mine and i launched the game it crashed and gave me a "bad serial number given during setup" error message, i am going to try again now that i updated everything and i am using WinXP instead of Win98, she is using Win2K does this have any effect on it? I won't stop until i get it working again and will appreciate any help offered.
