pandalefou 0 Posted August 7, 2004 ok, first i was thinking that EECP or Y2K3 crash the game in the editors BUT it do it with CLEAN ofp 1.96 GOTY version today i've tried one trick > to turn off ALL in programs as anti-virus... it was working for about 12 hour but now it do it again i have blowed up my keyboard because it's a ******* bug... i have sended 1 mail to bis support with dxdiag.txt, flashpoint.rpt and context.bin there 3 days ago now why don't they responde ?? so i can't understand why i does that it's the first time the bug appear since the begining of my experience gaming with ofp (since 2001) the next target of my shotgun is the screen and my cats ! ps:the crash appear after 2-5 minutes in the editor it freeze... i run on ofp 1.96 goty buyed 1 week ago because first i was having ofp simple edition please help me i'm desesperate :'( Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
philcommando 0 Posted August 7, 2004 1. There are many causes to crash. A. Win XP test:- 1. Bring up task manager and check which programme is using the most comp resources( control-alt-delete). Chances are it could be the advertising worms infection in your comp common nowadays. Do a worm check using antivirus software to remove. Edit:- Take note!!! Worms once deleted can re-infect again as long as u are hooked up to the internet. Try using the free firewall from zonelabs B. Win 98 test:- 1. get a free antivirus software on the net and check. C. Graphic card test:- 1. Do a clean uninstall of your graphic card and re-install. Could be the drivers causing problems. Happened to me once. No way to test it other than to uninstall/install, cos directx test shows up nothing. Must be a CLEAN uninstall..leave no files behind. D. Direct X test:- Find out if u are are using updated directx check. E. OFP test:- clean uninstall of ofp and re-install - from ofp1.0 to 1.96..every updates E. System re-install:- format your C drive and re-install everything, a lot of work, but it may help. Very common nowadays for amateur virus coders to screw up the files. ..but chances are, i suspect it is option C ( graphic card) that is causing the problem, but may heaven help u if u are using VIA chipsets! pandalefou 0 Posted August 7, 2004 A: i know and i close all programs i keep only the windows procesus B yes i have kaspersky because norton 2004 suck C: yes i have cleaned up and reinstall the new omega instead of catalyst D directx 9.0b > 9.0c don't needed at this time E: i have reinstall ofp about 2 times F: that i'll do this weekend ! pandalefou 0 Posted August 8, 2004 i have formated my computer and the bug continue ! i'm gonna to blow > the bug doesn't appear on my father's computer his have an gforce4 mx440 instead of radeon 9600... i'm gonna to buy a new hard drive to try...
