simple question:

WTF for? Before anyone will bore u about paa superiority over jpg check our combat photo thread.

U will see how can paa and pac files look like.

Just open the texture loading window, go to the correct folder and enter the correct texture name ("mynicelittletexture.jpg" or so).

JPG's are ok for testing but not for released addons, they are baaad.. Want to know why? search around a bit

hmm

why shoudl they be bad?

cuz some say they cause lag?

dunno

my prob is as following

i tried creating textures which went fine

but there is one thing i dont get

i create a gun texture in paa which looks absoultelly like directly taken from paint means there is no grainy stuff in there

i used musltiple colors in it (black, shades of gray, white)

others which have quite the same colors

look grainy (like other ofp textures)

now id liek to know how that nice plain texture is possible?

i created it with the folowing tools

basic in paint

edited in ulead photo express (bmp until here)

converted in psp3 in to tga 24b uncompressed

i did this with the othere textures aswell but they are grainy

(like the green color has vilote and orangge dots in it to create teh green color)

so i though of using jpegs

You might want to try the "png2paa" tool. I think the thread for it is on one of the O2 Modelling pages. It's supposed to convert textures better, without resorting to jpg.

Edit: PAATool 1.1 actually.
