edejl 0 Posted July 11, 2004 Are there any other programs that you can use to create addons? I have tried Oxygen but find it really crude and difficult to use whereas I can use eg, ImpactPlus (a 3D model program) just fine. Thanks
JdB 151 Posted July 11, 2004 Imo, O2 has the best system for rotating and shifting views of all 3D modelling programs. Also the possibility to create 4 poly faces (where other programs only allow 3 poly faces) is great. There are however in programs like 3DSMax much more options. I still prefer O2, because of easy view-shifting.
edejl 0 Posted July 11, 2004 OKso I've made a simple object. How do I save this to a file that can be viewed in Operation Flashpoint? I'm using Milkshape by the way. Oh yeah my walls are translucent... [Edit] Oh yeah and could I make it in any 3D maker or does it have to be able to save a certain type of file extension? If so, what is it? Thanks again. CounterForce 0 Posted July 11, 2004 I'm not an addon maker myself but I perfer if I get to see work in progress screenshots taken from O2 or OFP-ingame In other programs the models do not exactly look the way they will look in OFP after release

edejl 0 Posted July 11, 2004 In O2 I can't seem to find how to draw free hand, or by dragging premade shapes etc but only by typing in the size of the shape and it making it (then i crahses) Surely there must be a way to drag a quickshape?

Notice the XY XZ YZ X Y Z buttons? Those are for moving poly's/shapes. You can select seperate poly's by choosing from a number of different selection options. MikkoFin 0 Posted July 11, 2004 Easiest way is to create new points with INSERT button, then selecting 4 different points and pressing F6 - it will create a new poly. But use the "How to create M16" tutorial: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/breathe/download/HowToCreateM16.zip

mad_mike 0 Posted July 12, 2004 youre textures have got to be certain dimensions to work mate ie 128x128, 256x256, 512x512,1024x1024 the dont need to be square but aslong as you use sizes like that and youve converted the textures to pac/paa it should work i suggest you should get paa tool for converting textures as its far supior to texview i was recently in the same boat mate as ive only just started texturing stuff for ofp as a favour for a friend
