Status in your country....

Recommended Posts

No, I think he's right. That's how you get your picture in the Aftonbladet or Expressen tabloids.

"Robinson-iNeo: Därför vek jag ut mig"

"Big-Brother the_shadow i stort kändisbrĺk!"

etc

Which represents a broad lower middle-class segment of the society. And it's quite pathetic.

In other demographic groups there are other priorities, often equally pathetic. For instance for the younger social 'elite' in Stockholm (the spybar crowd) it's about how close you are to the royal family.

Sweden is a bit perverted in the notion that you are almost expected to be ashamed if you are rich or if you have a good education. (Socialism gone too far)

change some news headlines, royal family to celebrity and you pretty much have same situation for US.

money is the force in US, and after all this is the nation built on capitalism. having a good family background also helps.

That's the way it is in any country concerning sensationalism and tabloids.

Just look at the british, they are famous for it.

In American high schools status is a really big thing. Who has the best boyfriend, the best couple, most this, worst that. There's even a high school yearbook to showcase all of it. I hate status. Some of its funny though, but on the real, we're all created equal. I see women in high school compete over this and that and i know young chicks who talk like "he's not on my level" crap when all they got is nothing and the guy has nothing but she still thinks she's worth more. She's just looking for a guy to believe all that crap so she can suck him dry. I don't go for chicks like that, i can't stand hanging around people like that, and thats about all i have to say about that.

In Britain its all about status and an apparent class divide that should have long gone with the imperial days. Working or non-working brings more divides as does if you live in the north or south a stigma also carried. I long for the day I can shed this British skin and live abroad. With American style culture (all the negative) coming into the Brit youth. More and more privatisation of once much loved assests and a glory seeking Prime Minister jumping on American Presidents lap all makes our democracy nothing more than a polite dictatorship.

I was born from humble roots and shall probably die the same. Long live the common man and the cog he turns that really keeps society going wink_o.gif

Me and my friends and the other people I hang out with don't give a fuck about bullshit like 'status'. Dunno if it's that important in Finland at all. You should never live just to please others. And that's exactly what status is about. Showing others that you are something and literally begging for acceptance, praise and 'friends'. It's pathetic and shows lack of character. Be yourself. If others don't like the way you are then fuck them. You're sure to find friends that are for real and not just because you have cool clothes and know how to kiss ass.

I dunno about my country (belgium), i'm not a grown up and i don't feel like being one at all. I guess your status has a lot to do with the amount of money that you have, your education and your work. In a way, these 3 things are the same, with a good education you can get good work resulting in you earning money...

In my school status isn't THAT big... There are the weird people that seem to be afraid to talk, they usually don't have a lot of friends...

There are the normal ppl and there also are some morons who think they're better than the rest. In real life there are about uhm 10 ppl who actually adore those morons. Pretty much everyone else thinks he/she is an idiot or nobody special.

Oh well, let them live their dream, i don't give a fuck...

Basically your status is determined by your looks (clothes and stuff like that, not your face), your friends and if you are social or not... I think that's most important... I'm not saying that if you wear weird clothes everybody will ignore you. That's not true at all. Different styles are appreciated but there IS a limit biggrin_o.gif

Being social is pretty important i guess, it's just not fun to have a friend who is afraid to open his mouth.

Friends are rather important too, if your friends are complete morons people will tend to think that you're a moron too and stuff like that...

Dear god, why didn't these kinda stuff happen when spamming was still "allowed"??!!

Do you have any idea what this place would look like without that annoying 25 seconds limit (or something like that) between every message that you post??!!!!

SPAMHEAVEN HERE WE COME...

Oh... right... the old days... *sigh*
