CrackerJack 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Here is a website on how sights should look like. T-90 simulator
Colossus 2 Posted July 1, 2004 I don't get what the suggestion is, you have to explane a bit more what the meaning of this is.

Silver Falcon 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I would like to hve simulation of targeting computer in modern tanks such as M1 and so on. I mean - laser distance meter (to elevate canon due to balistic curve) and "tracking device" to get the angle speed of target to turn aiming point infront of moving vehicle after you track cross on the target for moment pushing the right button. So after you track the target and targeting comuter turns the canon, you should hit target on long distance just by having cross on target.... More precise and detail information may be found... Should be very useful (and relistic) in tankfights over 1Km. Quote[/b] ]The gunner aligns the reticule in the Gunner's Primary Sight with the target. The range is determined by the laser rangefinder and the range data is transferred to the fire control computer. The gunner's sight displays a ready-to-fire indication together with symbology from the fire control computer and system operational status. The gunner checks the alignment of the reticule in the Primary Sight with the target and the ready to fire indication and fires the gun. http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/abrams.htm Some M1 sim manual/tips: http://oldsite.simhq.com/simhq3....cs.html
maxqubit 1 Posted January 10, 2006 Very good suggestion. It was one of the first things i checked/tried when playing OFPE and now rechecking on OFP. This computer would also compensate for your own tank driving. The gunner drill (back in 88 on leopard2, while i was cmd of Leopard2 platoon) was 'Laze 1 2 3 shoot' the '1 2 3' seconds passive lazing allowed the computer to calculate the compensation for enemy target movement, distance and your tank driving. Really cool if this 'Laze 1 2 3 Shoot' would be implemented. Take note that at that time (1988) the T72 didn't have this system. So (part of the) the prescribed tactic against T72 was to keep moving. T72 gunners would have the disadvantage to shoot at a moving target while the Leopard2 gunner would have backup of this targeting computer.
tankieboy 0 Posted January 10, 2006 You will find that fire control comps are faster these days. No more holding down the laze switch for 3 seconds.
maxqubit 1 Posted January 10, 2006 Yeah i figured, but i was in the army from 1987 till 1989 (about the Flashpoint era;) so i have only recollection from that period.
