TheRedBaron 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I recently got a new computer that has a radeon 9600 graphics driver and was wondering how to change the settings for atroscopic filtering and AA. Help please im a little slow when it comes to these things
Kaliyuga 0 Posted June 4, 2004 should be able to right click on your desktop and then properties... click the settings tab.. and hit the advanced button.. that should launch your ATI properties window... I have a 9200pro and the options you're looking for are under the 3D tab ...
BraTTy 0 Posted June 4, 2004 A little chart I did for Nvidia in this topic http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=38703 And did you say a 9600 Raedon ? Not a 9600 pro or XT? If so ,it has about Geforce FX5600 performance and I wouldn't go crazy with AA and AF settings
Mister Frag 0 Posted June 4, 2004 While the 9600 isn't exactly a leading-edge graphics card anymore, the ATI offerings generally suffer less performance slowdowns than the NVIDIA equivalents when AA/AF are enabled. If a FX 5600 can play with AA/AF on, so can a Radeon 9600. (Oh yeah, I'm an NVIDIOT)
BraTTy 0 Posted June 4, 2004 According to the quality benches in these charts, its so very close to a FX5600, in some stuff it has less performance, its highly unlikely he has a reg 9600 tho.Prolly a XT http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20031229/index.html
TheRedBaron 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I don't have the 3d tab, I can't find any way to edit my aa and af settings heres a pic: settings window
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Looks like you don't have proper drivers installed. Did you get a driver cd with the card? If you didn't then download latest drivers and software from here: http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html
Mister Frag 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I have to agree with R. Gerschwarzenge, especially since you are running at 800x600 with 16-bit color. You're likely currently using the standard Windows VGA video driver.
TheRedBaron 0 Posted June 4, 2004 its a 9600 XT and I just have it on 16bit 800*600 for no special reason. I can turn it up. No I do not have a cd for my driver, but I am reluctant do uninstall my current driver because It has been running my games fine and at the ati site it says I need XP media addition and I have home addition. It just dosent seem like what I need, on the other hand I dont really know  so I kind of at a loss of what to do
TheRedBaron 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I installed the catalyst and it worked, thanks for the help . Oh and what does the overdrive setting do, is it like overclocking
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted June 5, 2004 Here's the explanation of overdrive http://www.ati.com/products/catalyst/overdrive.html
