Nathanz 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Im thinking M60E3 ? Im posted this because my "friend" thinks its a m60e4. Also does anyone know anymore detail about the craft ?
red oct 2 Posted June 4, 2004 your friend might be right: M60E4 but than again its a bad picture and the E3 looks the same.
DracoPaladore 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Why would they have a forward hand grip on the mounted version on the boat when it's attached to the stand? Or is it just a waste of time to just take it off?
red oct 2 Posted June 4, 2004 its probaly a marine M60. the US navy and marines work closely together. that or maybe they just want the forgrip if they need to take it off the pod for what ever the reason.
Wilco 944 Posted June 4, 2004 M60E4 or E3, the Marines are a branch off of the Navy by the way.
Nathanz 0 Posted June 4, 2004 M60E4 or E3 Yes but which Im kinda going towards the E4 as im sure those boat are updated ?
FSPilot 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I don't think it's an M60E4. Look at the metal pipe under the barrel (hell if I know what to call it). Â In the picture it doesn't continue to the end of the barrel, on the M60E4 it does. There's also the handle. Â On the boat picture it looks like there's a handle on top of the machine gun, there isn't one in the picture of the M60E4. The gun on the boat also has something wierd hanging down about halfway on the butt of the rifle, behind the pistol grip. Â It also looks longer, but that might just be because the M60E4 picture is taken at an angle. I think it's just an M240 with a hand grip.
king homer 1 Posted June 4, 2004 its a M60E3 cause of the longer barrel M60E4 has got a short barrel
Nathanz 0 Posted June 4, 2004 On the boat picture it has a m60 ish butt. Oh and when i did a search for m60e3 i found lots with extended barrels but when i did a search for a e4 i didnt find any
Major Fubar 0 Posted June 4, 2004 The stock looks more like a member of the M60 family than an M240 to me...my vote would be M60E3 as well.
FSPilot 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I stand corrected. Looking at it now the gun in the boat picture has a taller forward site dealie (aperture?), and the butt is a different shape. Yes, I must say, the M60 has a much better butt.
Schoeler 0 Posted June 4, 2004 I believe it's an M60E3 because of the longer barrel. Â I don't think the Navy has any M240's, and it is definitely not an M240 anyway, the buttstock is a dead giveaway. The foregrip is there so the weapon can be detached and fired and the thing hanging down is probably a feed port cover to prevent salt spray from entering the chamber and seriously dicking up the weapon. Note: the forward gun mount is empty, there probably should be two weapons on this craft.
Nathanz 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Yes, I must say, the M60 has a much better butt. I wouldn’t be saying that to much if I were you Anyway ... I am going towards the E3. What is the difference between the E3 and E4 ?
