Workshop browser needs an overhaul

Recommended Posts

The Workshop mod browser needs a UI overhaul. Two of what I think are the most important aspects of a browser are missing, the first is discover-ability of new mods and to know if the damn things works.

For the first one please add a popularity by date category, I don't understand what popularity means in the mod browser right now, whats the difference between that and subscriber count? Maybe add a trending tab as well, most of the time I find a cool new mod i have to actively look for it on YouTube and that leaves authors who want to share their mods reliant on shlurping on the nuts of content creators so people can have a small chance of looking at their mod.

Also I don't know if mods are up  to date or if they are broken, the thumbs up and thumbs down mean nothing because a lot projects with 95% thumbs up are broken because of a  new update. I understand if you don't want to be burdened with the moderation of comment section, please at least add a information that says " date of last update" as a mod version means anything most people or add a button that says "does is mod currently functional" and let people vote yes or no on it and let it reset with every title update.

There are many other things i could go on for the UI but these two are the most imporant.

1.Mod discover-ability
2.Mod Play-ability status

is there a way to view by content creator or view collections of mods? i have not found these things either but they would be handy.

also most mods seem to have too many tags attached if you try to filter by mod content there seems top be many unrelated mods in list, though that might be user issue
