DracoPaladore 0 Posted May 14, 2004 Been working on modelling using Oxygen and I've been messing with some tutorials by BRSSEB and finally started working on modelling. While my model is still primitive and very...well..flat, I guess I just have to learn along the way. :d MAS 36 #1 MAS 36 #2 Now all I have to do is figure out how to work with the .ccp and get a better method of skinning. Right now its a major pain since I(think) can only texture using background mappin. I'm thinking of maybe creating a sort of extra patch of wooden texture above and below the picture so that when the skin is stretch around the model the top isn't a greyish white blur. But, while I'm here, does anyone know a good texturing program or is there another way to do it in Oxygen? Cheers,
Master_Chief 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Hey man nice first mod! I think that background mapping is a good thing, cause lightwave and 3ds max have rather complicated texturing tools by comparison. Oxygen is designed for everyone, so you shouldn't need to take a course on how to texture just to make mods for a game. But from your post I assume that you are familiar with the more complicated stuff, so Oxygen is gonna seem kind of primitive at first, but once you get used to it texturing will become alot easier. Edit Opps I mistaken you for DragoFire
pzvg 0 Posted May 15, 2004 Good programs tend to cost Nice work, need to shorten the bayonet butt a touch, <that tube under the barrel is actually the butt-end of the bayonet in storage mode> If ya have any questions about specifics to the MAS, I'll be happy to try to answer them <I own one>

I think he bought one when he was into modelling. Looks like I'll have to snoop around. But overall I think Oxygen is at my level. I'm not really good at the more complicated stuff. If you want to know how simple I am...it took me a week to find out how to rotate the 3d camera I'll fix up that bayonet butt in a jiffy
