pickett 0 Posted May 2, 2004 Hi everybody, i'm trying to add a smoke cloud to a rifle to simulate a muzzleloader. The closest thing i have found so far was the smoke tanks generate when fireing. But how to do that on a rifle ? Any hints, suggestions ?
Blanco 0 Posted May 5, 2004 Here's a way : Download the marineassaultpack and drag the tactevent.pbo in your addon folder. (or the whole pack, it's well worth the download!) Read the readme (TACTevents) in the zip, you can add the smoke effects to non-marinepack addonweapons, probably with an eventhandler "fired". I can't tell you from here, read the readme. pickett 0 Posted May 5, 2004 Yep ! That's exactly what i was looking for. Still have to figure out how to implement it to my gun, but that's just plain work. Thank's a lot, Blanco !!! The matter is concluded. Goodspeed ! Pickett
General Barron 0 Posted May 13, 2004 There is a way to change the gunsmoke via the config, instead of via scripting. I don't know how to do it, but I've seen it in other addons. Using the config is going to give you far better performance than using scripting, especially with lots of units firing. I'd suggest finding out how to do this via configs. But if you can't figure that out, then obviously using the Marine pack method will be better than nothing!
