I am an utter failure at mission editing

Hello,

Before I get started I would like to note that I did try the readme and I did try the tutorials but I can not get this thing to work right. This is therefore my last resort. What I would like is have a sound file where everybody on the attacking side yells it at a predetermined signal. I have a file which for some idiotic component in my brain I cannot convert to the right ogg. file. The next thing is I dont know a darn toot about scripting so I need some help.

What I would like to do.

1) Convert one file to .ogg

2) have everybody say this file at a predetermined signal

the scenario is Russians are attacking the finnish border during the winter war using Lib 45's units and FDF mod, I would like all the Russian soldiers to "say" this hurrah when I give the signal to attack ( radio alpha).

could somebody please do me a favor and help me out?

I have the file but I dont have anyplace to upload it. Could someone please help me out? sad_o.gifsmile_o.gif

hello!,

Good news, I finally have figured out how to make one unit say the word thanks to Bloodmixers sound tutorial, but how do I make the whole group say it. I tried using this at the waypoint but it doesnt seem to work. Anyone... Anyone? Bueler... Bueler?

Hey Desantnik,

If you still need to convert music files i have a program that i use myself to convert files to .ogg and here it is the link to it:

Ferris says take some pepto bismol it's all between your ears. biggrin_o.gif

Also i sometimes edit the music files with NERO wave editor so the sound is optimized, as sometimes the quality of the sound file fades when you convert it.

Just some info to help you, i hope your mission works out the way you want it.

i think it will be bit weird if every one will shout hurrah. you better make some modifications to your sound file to make it like the crowd are shouting. Then use game logic to say it.

Hi,

here is my solution:

1. Get the soundfile converted.

2. Make a trigger, set its condition to whatever you want i.E.:

site: east

status: present

countdown/ once

in the condition line:

{_X distance leader GROUPNAME < 200} foreach thislist

in the activation:

leader GROUPNAME say "SOUNDFILENAME" (that will let only the leader speak) or

{_X say "SOUNDFILENAME"} for each units GROUPNAME

you could also set the condition on:

repeatedly/ Timeout: then everytime an East guy gets closer than 200m they will shout
