Apollo 0 Posted March 12, 2004 This whole episode has convinced me that diplomacy is in essence a waste of time ,from now on any international conflict should be dealt with by a public deathmatch hosted in "some" country at "some" crappy stadium , with "certain" dirty tricks allowed. No oversized dossier throwing,no national anthem torturing ,No WMD whining ,no raping of national symbols (for ex. lion ,dragon ,mapleleaf) ,certain steriotype calling allowed (for ex. Redneck ,winepeasent ,towelhead ,lumberjack) ,kicks in the child support zone permitted and sponserd by the Chinese goverment. And Jean Claude Vandamme should become King of Belgium ,Hurraay! Everybody loves Kungfu fighting ,tiedetiedede tietie Butros-Butros Ghali was fast as lithgning ,tietetedie tededie tededie....

ralphwiggum 6 Posted April 16, 2004 http://www.cnn.com/2004....ex.html Quote[/b] ]SEOUL, South Korea -- South Korea's government has pledged economic and political stability Friday, a day after parliamentary elections which saw the pro-government Uri Party win a slim majority. The Uri Party is allied with impeached President Roh Moo-hyun, and while Roh was not standing for a seat, the vote was seen as a referendum on the suspended leader's rule. Parliament voted to impeach Roh on March 12. The constitutional court is still to decide if he should be removed permanently. Prime Minister Goh Kun, who became acting president after the impeachment vote, urged parties on Friday to end their "politics of confrontation and conflict" and said it was time for the nation to focus on economic recovery. The Uri Party, which had only 49 seats in the outgoing assembly, won 152 to hold a slim majority in the 299-seat chamber. That was after 99 percent of the vote had been counted early Friday morning, KBS news reported, citing official tallies. The Uri Party's main rival, the conservative Grand National Party, took only 121. The GNP, which traces its roots to South Korea's military dictatorship era, held 137 seats in the previous assembly. Official results are expected later Friday.
