Major Gripe 0 Posted March 5, 2004 Here we go.......http://www.post-gazette.com/images2/20030509ap_ralstonPJ01_230.jpg Aron Ralston - Placebo's man of the year 2003. Ralston said he became trapped when he came upon three large boulders wedged in the three-foot wide canyon that he had to climb over. The second boulder rolled as he tried to scramble over it, trapping his right hand to.......etc, etc Agreed the man has some big cojones for cutting off his arm but if he had organised his little adventure properly, ie told someone where he was going, what time he'd be back he wouldn't have had to have done it. So in my book he loses the award through stupidity, which instead goes to the now ex Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf. Think how boring the war coverage would have been without his smiling face! 'Death to the infidel dogs...'
toadeater 0 Posted March 5, 2004 I nominate Noam Chomsky, because he was right. Runner up is Pope John Paul, who even though he is an insane fundamentalist, put aside his prejudices against Muslims and opposed Bush's crusade for oil. I think that speaks volumes about what's going on, when even the Pope won't support a crusade! Don't tell me Bush is a protestant and it doesn't count. Bush isn't a protestant, he's a crook.
