Baphomet 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I've noticed a few times now when playing that if I have units that are separated from my main group. Either intentionally or not. One of the units in my group sees fit to issue the "X return to formation" command, repeatedly. Despite my efforts to combat it. Even non ai players who aren't even issuing commands do it for some reason. It's -extremely- annoying, especially when you're trying to attack a target from multiple angles. bn880 5 Posted February 26, 2004 Try issuing a "Disengage" order.
Major Gripe 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I find a 9mm in the head usually discourages them sufficiently.

bn880 5 Posted February 26, 2004 Kill 10 enemy, shoot one of yours, then you'll be fine.
Baphomet 0 Posted February 27, 2004 I would get annoyed enough to shoot them, only after that the next guy in line would be like "x fall back into formation!" and I'd go "Raaargh" and I'd shoot the whole squad up. Thus ruining the mission.

walker 0 Posted February 29, 2004 Hi Baphomet Simple solution. Give all the units seperate orders to move to a location. It is not that they are ignoring the chain of command they are exersizing it! They are in charge of that group. Once the troops are all formed up in the loaction and you are there order them to return to formation. problem solved A more advanced option If you use  unit [F] key then [5], [5] you can find the position of each unit. Then group units that are close to each other and move them together as a group. Remember not all units move at the same speed in certain modes Consider grouping units according to type with unit [F] key then [9], [9] then set a unit colour number. Put MG, AT and AA units together in one section, put normal soldiers and grenaderes in another then use them to do bounding overwatch with AT and MG always to the rear and put snipers and special forces in another to use as scouts. This also helps in squad tactics. http://www.website.thechainofcommand.net/squad_tactics.htm And in Battle planning http://www.website.thechainofcommand.net/battle_plan.htm Hope this has helped. Kind Regards Walker
Baphomet 0 Posted March 4, 2004 I'll try those suggestions from here on out, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I won't have that happen again at a critical moment.
