lee_h._oswald 0 Posted February 25, 2004 Bad news, on a cti map those values are not good.... Ppl beaming arround, resistance is shooting at (for me) invisible players and so on.... Is there ONE person on this planet who knows how to config a linux ofp dedi 1.96 server? Damned, this sh*t is no fun anymore.... MfG Lee
killswitch 19 Posted February 26, 2004 Did you try the other value Suma suggested in his "custom settings suggestion", i.e have you tried <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">class Sockets { rcvBufSize=10000; maxPacketSize=1490; }; and seen if the problem remains. As a note, I'm connected to internet via ADSL over PPPoE and have my computer(s) behind a router. I use the the following: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> class Sockets { rcvBufSize=10000; maxPacketSize=1492; }; and its seems to be fine. Of course, I didn't have any troubles before adding this, so... Also, you could try connecting to one of the Zeus game servers (See Shrike's signature above) and see how that works out. The server machine is located in Germany, which should help you get low pings. Should that turn out to be fine, I can describe more in detail what the Zeus server settings are. lee_h._oswald 0 Posted February 26, 2004 I have tried: maxPacketSize=512 maxPacketSize=768 maxPacketSize=1024 maxPacketSize=1490 <- I think this is set by ofp automaticly if you don´t have such an entry in the cfg. I am testeing on a stupid simple ctf map, only some vehicles are standing there. With this testmap, only "maxPacketSize=512" works perfect, ping and bandwith are 100% stable. If I play cti with "maxPacketSize=512", everything goes mad.. I will try on zeus server some day, thx. MfG Lee
